2023-10-12 23:51:58 +0000 UTCslavery wasnt a new concept to the world however those slaves were sold under different ideas of what slavery meant. the inhumane treatment that white Europeans deemed as slavery was not what the sellers agreed on. plus the enslaved people were stolen first before they were officially in the slave trade. the argument that enslaved people were sold off by other black people is so lackluster and unnuanced please educate yourself :)

A bit pff topic, but why the hell some random african religion noone ever heard abaut gets good representation, in og fking islam gets good representation, but catholics can only be the villains...come on I know it's XXI century, and it's the only religion snowflakes allow to shit on, but this is getting ridicoulous. I'm not asking for plotlane of this rando religion priests to be secretly selling their own people (despite it being extreamly historicly accurate...like really, look it up, most of slaves weren't captured by Europeans, they were sold other blacks), but give us some non-corrupted catolic priests, come on castlevania you can do this!

2023-10-07 14:25:44 +0000 UTCI know it’s a somewhat fair portrayal when looking at Christian obscurantism in mediaeval times, or the illiberalism of religious orders during the revolutions, but one thing I’m iffy about both series is that they make the Christian leadership look so evil vs the games. Other shows like The Boys also has the same problem, were I get what they are saying about religious organizations, but kind of crap on faith in the process. I did like how they handled Isaac and his faith. Maybe they can do something similar for Christians with Mizrak, so I hope he redeems himself and doesn’t renounce his faith.

2023-10-07 13:29:13 +0000 UTCMost of the one stars reviews are definitely disingenuous, marred in doublespeak, and are more of a statement than an actual review of the show; nothing to rationalize there. I have some problems with this season, like the very fan-service of an ending for exemple, but overall very entertaining and engaging take on the property, that got me in the mood to go back to the games again.

Now from the looks of it, vampires or humans are using a magical machine to create night creatures and not a forge master thus the night creatures have no master. 37:55 Other vampires beside Dracula used magic in the first Castlevania. From my understanding, it wasn't common but rare. Some vampires used magic to create skeleton soldiers and tried to revive Dracula.

2023-10-07 02:12:52 +0000 UTCWell I don't want to go into it because of spoilers but its drastically different from Rondo of Blood or whatever Richters original game is called I always get the different versions mixed up and lm not trying to hate on anyone who's enjoying it but for me its not quite good enough as a series calling itself Castlevania (they barely even used any of the series music) plus i find the lack of Dracula in most of it very disappointing the games have a basic storyline that can be fleshed out without drastically altering characters its too bad I was looking forward to eventually getting to Soma but not if they pull some of the stuff they did in the other shows
