''suki'' and ''sukidayo'' in japanese as well as ''Joha'' and ''johayo'' in korean just mean ''I like/I love''. And what you're referring to a lot of the time isn't said but just understood based on context. But ofc sometimes the context is unclear and there could be multiple meanings so you end up with ambiguous situations like this one. So hori didn't actually say ''I love you'' she just said ''I love'' and then after clarified that she was referring to his hands. And miyamura replied that he loves her hands too but then only said ''suki'' again and this time he was referring to hori. But bc hori said that she heard him the first time, she probably just thought he meant her hands again. Anyway Keep the ''suki'' and ''joha'' thing in mind, I've seen this happen quite a bit in Kdrama and Anime

I'm talking about the scene where Ishikawa was telling Miyamura that Hori loves him, and Miyamura replies that he doesn't think so. He replied with that partly Hori doesn't tell anyone in class their relationship and her being ambiguous at the hand holding scene. And since you are talking about that scene, the translation wasn't totally wrong. Miyamura said, "Ore mo suki da yo." It only meant, "I also likes." There's no context to what he also likes. The listener can interpret it as, "I also likes your hand" or "I also likes you."

It's meant to be ambiguous i think to increase tension, but it should still be translated as "i love your hands" He said sukidayo twice in a row, the same way. In both cases the object suki is directed at isn't explicitly mentioned, but it's implied that it's referring to her hands based off her last sentence, rather than her herself. "I also love your hands" then repeating "I love your hands." For whatever reason they translated the hidden meaning behind his words explicity, which made the narrative a bit confusing. At least i think he had a hidden meaning behind his ambiguous phrase

Keep up the fantastic reactions 😏 @25:02 What Miyamura meant imo, although he told Hori he loves her, but since she only replies with "I heard you the first time, " and didn't do anything extra at school, he presumes that she didn't want anyone else to know their relationship is moving forward. Thus when Ishikawa was clarifying that Hori likes Miyamura, Miyamura just replies that pretty sure she doesn't because she hasn't told anyone else about them.

He said the same words twice and they translated it differently eaxh time. In that context it would be like repeating that he loved her hands, although the phrase by itself could be construed as directed at her and not her hands. I think they're both vaguely aware of the implications at this point but not fully sure of themselves, but that's just a guess on my part, no extra info beyond the tiny japanese lesson
