The attacks were using that saved up stock of cursed energy. Even if he hit zero on the stockpiled energy he wouldn't have died as a result.

2023-09-10 07:27:35 +0000 UTCIt's not just the spiral. If you rewatch the last minute from the final fight of Gurren Lagann, it's literally the EXACT SAME scene as the last moments of Mechamaru here. The animation, the storyboarding, the artstyle. It's almost a carbon copy. It's not the first time I see a Gurren Lagann reference in an anime, but I never saw one so obvious and flamboyant. I knew that Gurren Lagann was popular in Japan, but I didn't know it left THAT much of an impact to get a tribute in one of the new "Big 3"(?) of shônen anime. Since it was a Gainax/Trigger anime, I always thought it was pretty niche. Like otaku level of niche.

2023-09-10 05:48:02 +0000 UTCI think they do collab with animators from other studios, because this episode's animation looked a lot like Studio Trigger's animation style (that plus the obvious Evangelion + Gurren Lagann references). And it is known that they hired animators from Wit Studio for their season of AoT. So I think for some reason they managed to obtain the respect and support from animators from other studios.

2023-09-10 02:20:55 +0000 UTCMiwa's move is called New Shadow Style: Simple Domain. So mechamaru copied it bar for bar lol. Nobody else but Miwa and her clan was supposed to know how to do it. So it's crazy Mechamaru was able to do it, just by observing. Director was also right about how it works. It basically works the same way as activating a domain within a domain.

I always wondered which direction this show will go if Gojo was supposed to be the strongest. Unless another villain of equal strength shows up or they jump him with some countermeasures like Toji did. Cuz he had a weapon that bypassed Gojo's infinity. Granted, Gojo is many more years older and experienced plus hes reached new heights but if enough strong dudes jump him, they might find an opening.
