You are correct. I think he looks appropriate as a warrior as well. His age doesn’t seem as drastically mature in the past. So i think you nailed it. Frankly a 45 year old warrior from that time period being with a 19 year old is better thank what Game of thrones puts me through haha.

i think that if the grim reapers actually remembered their sins, they'd prolly go insane. full of guilt and feeling extreme punishment. it's better that they forget and start with a clean slate rather than be bogged down by memories that they can't change or forget.

Dokkaebi is probably the better word, versus goblin, to your point. Goblin works as a generic term, but I’m not sure that they’d be perceived as monsters like in western interpretations. And more like a minor deity (god) and with a lot of variations. The “guardian: great and lonely” is this specific dokkaebi (given his backstory and his emo mode), there are suggestions of the their known existence in ep 1. But, the possibility, that he is the only one, the way he takes folk references personally, the children’s song in ep 2 and the blood in this ep. Just a guess.

Btw why is the story called in your videos "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" is that alternate name for Goblin? Maybe decided for western audience, because Goblin word brings some little green humanoids to mind too much :D

I think the actor Goblin fits how his face looks older, as his human self is from ancient time where people lived in outside constantly and him being a soldier (maybe for life) would have made his face rough on the edges. Baby faced Korean male actor wouldn't in my mind fit. Just my own take when you guys just kept talking about who looks older =)

IMO Lee Dong Wook is very attractive, but I am a Gong Yoo lover. His level of fine is my cup of tea. They are around the same age. Gong Yoo is a little older. He was definitely next level in Coffee Prince. Love the commentary guys.

While they are familiar, goblins, reapers, ghosts have differences in the Korean interpretations than you would be familiar with, plus reimagined for the purpose of this story. So, it may be confusing without context from the fairy tails. There are folk stories that root things like the fact that goblins are afraid of blood. For this interpretation as the spirit of a general dwelling in the sword, he can’t be afraid of just blood. He spilled too much, and the reason for his punishment. (Ep. 1). I am not sure, but I think they added the “horse” blood to the equation, to make it more plausible. Dokkaebi should be cheap, petty, immature, and impish. Also, known not to have good hygiene, hence the kids song in ep 2. Teaching kids not to shit their pants. Haha

My interpretation is that she always saw the sword but didnt want to tell him because she was worried about actually having to mary him immediately. thats why she asked him those questions before she admitted she can see the sword.

Also Director def looks youngish, thought he was 28/29 and Lee at most 34/35. I think Gong Yoo looked his age in this and that may also because Coffee Prince when he was mid 20s then this so I saw that 10 years aging lmao
