The body is an adult woman (19)....with the mind of a child...who struggles with how to identify him/herself. Mix that with the graphic Minority Hunter forcing himself...and it was hard to watch.
Ironically, that was the intro discussion...the show has many threads that are aware of but doesn't necessarily always put together....

This is like a lot of books/shows we are seeing it from Kiruko's PoV who is an unreliable narrator for the audience. The past with Robin is only through their eyes as a kid who had no clue and had some idol complex. Now they realize who Robin really is.

The girl in the black sunglasses was fond of Mimi Hime, so it would make sense for them to be together. They couldn't prevent the kid's transformation so Shiro (bowl cut dude) tried to save Mimi Hime. Also, I can't remeber but maybe the black haired girl that taught Maru the touch is the girl with that they were with when coming outside for the first time.

2023-06-18 02:19:00 +0000 UTCMy take is that Haruki held up Robin almost like idol worship. But there's some stuff shown earlier that implies that Robin was probably a creep from the get-go. Haruki/Kiruko's own "delusion" if you will. A lot of ppl had a problem with this scene in the manga but IMO I thought it was fitting and within the theme of the show. It was supposed to be horrible. I wouldn't say it was gratuitous and unnecessary like some others and what I've seen in other anime or tv shows. To some of your other comments, I wouldn't expect someone just watching one time to get a lot of the stuff that's in here. Having read the manga and watching each ep a couple of times, HD does have a lot of re-watch value. The author does a great job of show a lot of little nuggets all over the place without a ton of real exposition. I really appreciate that this is...sophisticated...content that's for adults using animation as the medium.
