Suggesting Shows | Unhappy People

This post signals that i read feedback and take it into thought. Go ahead and let your passion out towards me. Lets be resourceful in the comments.
Just to be clear we are preparing to post those shows on YouTube and provide and uncut version for people to watch with early access or see full version. I get confused when people go. “but you didn’t ask us about if we wanna see this”. Right…because how do i put this… we determined there is a YouTube audience for this show so we are recording it…and what else would i do with the uncut version? Hahah.
anyways, just to remind you guys patrons absolutely have a say in the shows that we watch. I note what you comment about even if I don’t reply, we have a pinned post for suggestions, and finally discord the patreon only channel which I use heavily. Use those.
I found out on many of the polls ( because I read comments) that people will simply not pick a show because they have other reactors to watch cover it and they would rather us watch some underrated show so they can get variety while we miss out on growth as a channel.
I’ve read people try and vote depending on if Adorkable is in or not rather than just objectively chose the best show to react to.
If you disagree, consider any show you think is better than those two, put your YouTube in incognito mode, plug into your suggestion, and see the views for it, and compare. That’s really all there is too it. I take your suggestions and plug them. Thats why you see us skip a better rated show and even a popular manga for a show that’s lower rated…because for some reason…thats the show people are watching.

I do understand shows are picked for growing the channel, but at the same time shows should have variety to include shows that are out of the box for mainstream favorability.

Its like a 50% new trending anime of any genre, 30% live action and even split of 10% between new b-tier/underrated anime and old popular anime (just my own personal estimates, i did not do the math). I guess the only issue is if the b-tier anime could be replaced with another more popular old anime. Since people tend to sabotage overall polls, how about just doing polls specifically between the new b-tier shows and old popular shows. Leave the 50% and 30% anime and live actions shows out of the poll. That way maybe you can get more out of polls while not affecting the majority of your profiting shows and patreons feel like they have more decision making power over the remaining 20% shows you are watching. Just leaving my thoughts but im not experienced w yt/patreon like u guys so i might just be wrong lol.

2023-05-12 21:59:31 +0000 UTCI think you may underestimate it, seeing that it averaged 4k a video, while the “hit” and “highly anticipated” God of Highschool that aired back then averaged 7.5k. It was a timeframe your channel was a fraction it is now! I do get the part about joining the herd, and the benefits there, but I also think there’s a stage where you have a big enough audience to do those older shows (because a good chunk will have seen it/be interested). I compare it to how Roshi consistently does older anime (ex. Magi, Toradora, etc) and still pulls in views above doing new seasonals and “underrated gems” or just has a plethora of patreon-onlys

But i absolutely recommend that you watch it even if it isn't for to make videos.

I don't see why ppl get upset about a show. It's not like your forcing them to watch it. If you don't like it then simply don't watch it & wait til they post something you do like. I get your paying but again, no one is forcing you to. It's your channel, I feel like you should make the calls & everyone should respect your decisions. You letting us give suggestions & vote in polls is enough for me. It's not like your pulling random shows just for the kicks & giggles. The shows are clearly things ppl want to see. & It's easy to forget that their are YouTube viewers who aren't able to pay but it's wonderful that you are still looking out for them. So I say keep doing what your doing! I for one, am happy with the system you have in place

They will vote a show and not care that it bombs on youtube. So i like to read suggestions and interact back and forth. Discord is the only place i can do that. I like how the polls are on here, I don't really like discord because I get flooded with notifications and if I turn them off I miss stuff and the suggestion page for anime doesn't stack the suggestion by anime so you end up with a lot of suggestions with 2 or 3 likes instead of a whole anime with 100 likes. Just food for thought 💭

I don't have a problem with with the way y'all do things because y'all always circle back around and react to them sooner or later. As far a K-drama even if I don't like it I know other people do just like my wife loves the Marvel and DC stuff y'all reacted to even though I'm not a fan. I like that it's a variety of shows and not just the stuff I watch

A lot of times an anime is not binge able or has slow moments and we need the Kdrama in between to basically give us life again. You think the k drama is taking up a slot. Yes and no. Without it. We would record less shows because we’d end recording for the day if we have mental fatigue. Like “you” Does not get much views but it’s something i can record no matter how tired i feel as the show matches my natural interests. Some of these anime are not things I’d normally watch…but people wanna see us watch them… And we do. Also. Variety. These anime studios get strict sometimes. I dont wanna be in a position where 100% of support is anime and anime studios get stricter and we really hurt. So I balance out the audience and even attempt to add shows that girls like to watch to further manage “risk” and be diverse enough to handle challenges in media

Example: Summertime Rendering was completely foreign to me and ended being the show I watched the most this past anime season because so many different people had fire reactions to it. 2023-05-12 16:54:56 +0000 UTCits so dumb people complain because i do see you do eventually cover series, its not like its not on your radar, but i personally don't mind what you react to because everything i've watched from you has been really great which is why im glad i paid annually, cause i know you'll eventually watch many other good anime as well as many hidden gems that mainstream overshadowed for stupid reasons like the cgi nonsense. i've said it in many post that cgi needs time to evolve and for it to evolve it needs to be used and given fair feedback so the developers can properly improve it, but i been thinking of a unique idea for a while what if you some how colab with another reactor somehow. yes i'm aware it'll be rather difficult due to scheduling and all that.

That being said the only things that "bug" me but don't bother me are 1 like what Ash said I don't watch live action K-drama at all just not my niche so that's two or three slots a week I won't even watch. 2 it's a product of the business. You guys have to react to the stuff that will get views on YouTube and here so a lot of times you miss like 2-3 good anime a season because other shows will get more views even if the shows are worse, but that is 1000% what you should do so I don't have a problem with the way y'all do things.

Beautiful women cant complain about that and it’s different for my eyes. I been seein the same look most of my life so this is like a whole other world for me. I also like the Romance more than I thought so I consider more. Kdrama is currently my favorite type of content to react to. I also like how they portray honorable people and respect. And their villains are real trash hahah. You get a really Noble person or a Really Heinous Villain. I like both

I can't tell you how many times I've saw something gold but it's super unappreciated because it's foreign or kpop related but if people could just get past their bias and try it(like getting a toddler to eat vegetables, honestly)...they could get introduced to a whole new world! For that I'm really grateful I found you guys, because there really aren't a lot of people who react sincerely to the kdramas and it really warms my heart that you actually react to different genres of kdramas and show other people that the label of kdramas doesn't just mean "romance" and that it's really just an umbrella term.

I typically have more flexibility for a live action like Beef. Got terrible views but i like the show a lot. I also hope a few L’s will attract people who also like what i like.

If there's other content that will help the channel grow that's cool too, but as far as paying money monthly for uncut reactions I would prefer it be animated content over anything else first.

Just kind of sucks we miss out on some reactions over YouTube preference because of it's market value :( As far as the people who say stuff like "why are you reacting to shows no one asked for?".... it's moreso they aren't the one who requested it so therefore the opinion is myopic and and inconsiderate of them. So we stopped. Views were higher back than in general because people were stuck at home for covid. the reactions are scarce and the search volume is also low. Since reactions are scarce our videos dont get recommended by other videos doing the same thing. The reasona youtuber joins the heard is to get recommended by each other’s videos. Like in nascar using the car ahead of you to cut draft and pick up speed with less work on the car

Even good on views, considering you guys were WAY smaller back then, and yet, those videos still outdo some of your current YouTube content. Tapping into older, popular shows is a great way to get dedicated people, because the audience is there, but the reaction content is more scarce
