I actually don't even remember what was my point, but yes this was inside joke to YBRL. Arnheid's story is sad and yes beating pregnant woman is morally wrong.

Thamor

It’s basically an inside joke. He calls me white knight. But I appreciate you

Rock Lee

I know this is 3 months late, but people reacting negatively to seeing a pregnant woman get beat to death is not "white knighting"

Argo2Unitard

#Arnheid 🥰

Rock Lee

I was waiting to see your white knight reaction, actually YBRL was most logical to this beating compared to some other shows :D. Adorkable went full bloodthirsty was funny. It's 1000AD not 2000AD modern day values that is just what I want to point out again =)

Thamor

She helped Garder and Snake and his men got in trouble unintentionally. She didn't want that on them. But when she chose to go with Garder, half the intentional reason was to make Gardar let go of Snake's neck. So she intentionally didn't harm no one but she did help snake intentionally.

Ashish Kumar

@YaBoyRockLee. That is such a fair take on Thorfinn. He's a dope fighter and it's cool to see even if we agree and respect his wish to be a pacifist.

Dominic Mason

Personally I like both Thorfinn and Ketil and think they are both solid characters that have both good and bad qualities. I do however take issue with you using the term serial killer in regards to Thorfinn season 1. From what I remember most if not all of the people he directly killed when working for Askelad were fellow soldiers. It was kind of a kill or be killed scenario. Besides even if I agreed that Thorfinn was a "serial killer" the whole point of this season and the show moving forward was for Thorfinn coming to grips with his sins realizing he did bad things and working to change himself so he never hurts people again and also tries to better the world. I think that's why people are loving Thorfinn this season because he is showing the ability and willingness to change.

Dominic Mason

I'm asking do you think fans of the show are being hypocritical by loving thorfinn and ignoring his sins while in the same breath destroying ketil

Mahir Ducale

Unlike ketil Canute has other sources of income so no he clean have workers fo there and make profits from the crops and land

Mufid Lassissi

Admitingly i wanna see Thorfinn fight. But it’s not a mature take. But it’s honest. It looks cool and that was my expectation watching the show. And… he’s REALLY good at it. Lol. Man went 10 ish years without fighting and matched an elite swords man barehanded. It’s just cool to watch but I understand Thorfinn and wont be upset that he doesn’t fight…but I certainly wanna see it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Rock Lee

Not really a correction. We know that. Adorkable confirmed it. Nevertheless he was taking a farm that has slaves on it. So not sure what he’s gonna do when he owns it. Seeing it has slaves working for free but says he doesn’t support slavery but needs something profitable for his army.

Rock Lee

Hey brotha. Don’t really know what your asking. To be clear. But i read it. Thorfinn was a mass murde. Got that. What about it ? Like respectfully

Rock Lee

He also almost die because Arnheid help Gardar

Raikiri29

And he lost 5 men because of Arnheid. He values those men as much as his own life. They were his family. I dont think saving his life is going to balance the scales in Snakes mind. Thats why Thorfinn likes Snake. Despite his bad qualities, Snake has his principles and code he follows and never mistreated them like the other retainers.

Danny

Also F Snake. He survived thanks to Arnheid leaving with Gardar. She got beat up for Snake, in a way. I don't know if he realises that.

Ashish Kumar

They were saying the farm can’t be profitable without them. Canute would have to keep the slaves to keep a profit. Although maybe Canute has a plan that releases the slaves and makes money.

Dirty_Oldman

Well, they were saying the farm is profitable because of the slaves. Therefore if Canute wanted to make money to fund his army, he had to take it over and leave it as is.

Dirty_Oldman

Honestly don’t find what ketil did too surprising

Grelk

@Subaru not true necessarily. Some of the ex-slave Greeks were pro-slavery too (Diogenes for example had been a slave for a while, and once Freeman, he bought a slave as a carrier boy. Said slave ran away, and Diogenes didn't rly give a fuck, just saying his trademark Cynism shit w/ the line "If Manes can live without Diogenes, why not Diogenes without Manes?"). Back in ancient Greece & Rome, people might go through cycles of Slave & Freeman all the time, yet most ppl didn't think much of it, as losing in a war simply makes sense to become a Slave, just like your enemies become Slaves if THEY lose to you. Hell in ancient Rome your FATHER (the Head of the Family) could sell you to slavery for NO REASON (but he could ONLY do it 3 times total, after that slavery is nullified automatically for you when your father does this shit cuz of any reason rly), and plenty enough did to their useless sons etc, for example

Skebaba

Glad most ppl who stuck around this season sees Thorfinn Pacifism as it is. A pure unadulterated albeit naïve view of human life equal and undeserving of violence

Shakir

One correction. Canute is against slavery. He executed the men in his army earlier for TRYING to enslave ppl. Team Canute Team Thorfinn (Einer and Arnheid in Team Thorfinn btw) Only. Also fuck the time period bullshit FUCK KETIL. Rant over

Shakir

thats true. i see alot of ppl say "but oh hes still a slave owner in the end" but the point is that in an era where slavery is a common practice, he was someone who treated slaves with FAR better conditions than expected. Not only does he give them the chance of freedom but he was never overly harsh to them and dislikes admonishing them to begin with. It takes alot to be not be swept by the culture that others are used to. If anything, one could call him brave for not bending to the same viciousness others treat their slaves. His slaves are more like company workers that were trapped in a contract they had to complete. Ofc this episode just shows that even someone like Ketil who was kind and softspoken finally snapped after everything around him fell to pieces. If it was just Arnheid's escape, i doubt he would go this far. Especially if he heard about the baby. But because Canute's on his way to take his lands, his rationale has been broken and hes moving on rage and instinct. Not that i support anything he did and slavery is still wrong in the end. But doing something that others in ur time did not commonly do is still a big step.

Danny

"Considering that thorfinn was a serial killer after he cracked nothing is too far for a human who lost everything, but again i agree with with there is no good slave owners the idea it self of owning another person is so wrong , but i got give the man his credit looking at how he gave at least some of the one he owned a chance of getting their freedom. even compared to Torfinn, bro killed hundreds of people, while farmer just chilling in his farm and getting all the hate for some reason" I would like to hear your take on how u see both characters?

Mahir Ducale

Lee what you think about this.. I read this on a reddit regarding how people view throfinn vs ketil after the recent eposide.

Mahir Ducale

I’m confused didn’t Canute want to take ketils farm so he doenst have to tax the citizens of the country High amounts … This Channel be putting all kinds of goals and deeds that Canute never said on his name. They said Canute doenst acre about slavery yet he be headed the soldiers who were trying to enslave women his first episode this season. But they’re hyping floki who killed Thors for moving on with his life . 😂 man

Mufid Lassissi

Same could be said about people wanting to see Thorfinn fight. Even though the show is telling us violence shouldn’t be there answer.

Dirty_Oldman

Think they are trying to hammer home what Thorfinn been saying about violence. Unless they at least try, the cycle just continues. Talking about slaves and freedom is pointless when you keep fighting wars. What is the first method? I want to hear more of Thorfinn’s thoughts.

Dirty_Oldman

The time period argument is absolute bullshit. Not everyone thought it was ok to have slaves back then. Not everyone thought it was ok to marry 14 y/o girls back then. Was both a thing widely done? Yes, but the problem is if they can't see anything wrong with it then they are at fault. Like you said they are hypocrites who won't think about how they would feel in these situations they put others in.

Subaru

honestly im not mad at anyone who do bad things in this show i don't know why but i have no hate towards anyone but again ive been reading 40k lore for a week so kinda desensitized to evil shit lol (for the emperor!!!!)

Dragon

ah yes my favorite episode of uncanny counter lol

Dragon

The look on Snakes face when he stopped Ketil made my blood cold, no words needed because that look conveyed HUNDREDS of them.

MWS

At the end of the day a slave is still a slave and a Master is still a Master. What ketil did was not even remotely shocking to me. Nor should it shock anyone else to be honest. You can polish a turd it's still a turd
