Public Halloween Update?
Added 2025-10-02 09:53:05 +0000 UTCI have been sort of wanting to do a bit more for a Halloween update. This can't be adding new preds and such due to the pressure of preparing 4.0.0, but I could add some smaller stuff like extra variants and little easter eggs alongside other stuff.
Since I wouldn't have to wait for my animator to make new animations, I could get this out decently quickly in order to satiate appetites until I can finally get the first 4.0.0 playtest out. This Halloween update would be released as 3.2.0 and would include a little teaser of 4.0.0 content with a couple new items and the male Zombie variant + the new Zombie animations.
The only catch is that I'd want to release this mini Halloween update publicly as it would feel like a waste to add this new Halloween content just for it to not be available to the public due to being locked behind 4.0.0 playtests until far after October is over.
So, should I commit to a public Halloween update or should I just hold off for now?

I do like the idea of getting a ‘major update’ every Halloween. Creating something of a tradition (for as long as this project is being developed, of course.) New variants rather than entirely new mobs. Perhaps even a boss to fit the season. (Next year of course, no way you could design an entire boss within a month.) I also do think it’s best to make sure everything is kept in moderation. Don’t over extend yourself, by simply pushing for ‘results’. Much like what Crushermach3 said.

Around certain holidays I notice a lot of artists develop some big ambitions to get something appropriately themed out by the end of the month, but pretty often it comes out late or subpar unless they already had it all planned out ahead of time.
