Scarecrow Rework Poll
Added 2025-06-14 10:09:57 +0000 UTCWell, it seems the Scarecrow is in need of a rework as I just can't get its current behavior scheme to work. So, I wanted to ask you guys what I should do for its reworked system based off of a couple ideas I've had.
1) The Scarecrow works on just a timer now, meaning it has a set duration to boost crops after eating and then goes hunting once that's up. I can potentially work in a system where it get hungrier the longer it looks, but I don't really know if that works well anymore, simply because the player has to be around for long enough without it getting a meal.
2) A system similar to the last one, but instead of getting hungrier, the scarecrow will not boost crops as much at lower levels and the player can instead empower it to grow faster, but at the risk that it will now hunt animals or players in addition to monsters.
3) A special lure system where the Scarecrow will actually lure monsters into its field, and it itself won't actively hunt. In this scenario, it would hunt anything that enters its 15x7x15 field area. The gimmick is that the player would now need to wear a carved pumpkin while gathering crops if they didn't want the scarecrow to eat them.
