2023-04-01 01:41:20 +0000 UTCI'm personally in the "I'll prefer honest opinions even if I don't agree with them" camp, so I appreciated your overall thoughts at the end, even though I totally get why it's not really something you want to deal with because of how extreme people can get about it. I thought this season was very good and well-paced, except for a few minor things, like them doing a lot of telling instead of showing. They just tell us that Anis gets along with the commoners and visits them often. They just tell us how her mother felt regarding her being magic-less. But that's just the downside of only having 12 episodes, so I get it. You can read the LN for more depth if you really want all the details. I'd appreciate a S2 since apparently this is really just the start of the "real story," and there's a lot more content left, but I did *not* get S2 vibes from the ending. Felt like teasing what happens later with a "You want to actually see the revolution? Go read the LN." kind of finale, so I guess we'll see.

2023-03-31 15:11:21 +0000 UTCya acendence of a bookworm was the first time i saw that. maybe you guys would actually like it. its a bit slower(though both season 1 and 2 have just amazing endings :D ), but its probably the best developed 'world' ive seen in an isekai. maybe mushoku is better develeped at this point. i dont konw. i just love acendance though. maybe all three of you could watch even the first episode and see how you like it. i'd be happy with even just that to tell you the truth. but i think if you watch it, you'll probably be drawn in. i have no idea how this would do on youtube. i know its one of those shows thats rated pretty high, but im not sure if lots of people actually watch it. kinda like houseki no kuni.

Also, if you would be concerned by the lack of action, there is more action in the later books compared to the first three seasons but it isn't the main focus of the show. It has less emotional developments and more world building as well.

Now that season 1 is done, and until they greenlight season 2, you guys really should watch Ascendance of a Bookworm: I'll do Anything to Become a Librarian. I recommended that series to you guys before, and with the similarities between that series and this one (especially the reveal at the midpoint of this episode) I think that the time is right to pick it up. Of course Bookworm is somewhat slower paced than this series was, and it doesn't have as much action as this show had (if you can imagine) but its world-building is perhaps even stronger. I think that it's the perfect way to pass the time until season 2 of MagRev and the (official) release of the Reincarnated as a Slime movie and the season 3 of the same.

2023-03-31 04:23:09 +0000 UTCAs anime only, this show was fire by ep 5. Thus I suggested it. And by ep 9 it exceeded my expectation. Didn't expect them to pack 2 and half ep of emotional drama in the last 3 ep. But that final ep build up was worthwhile imo. Especially the yuri scene. Since I'm not a yuri lover, I'd never thought I can accept watching 2 girls kissing and was cheering for them internally.

2023-03-31 02:14:41 +0000 UTCThe story actually isn’t done, the show only covered 3/6 light novels, though who knows if it’ll get a 2nd season, but there’s definitely material for it If I’m remembering correctly each novel ended with one of the main fights, the dragon, Algard, and Euphie
