2023-03-17 23:26:24 +0000 UTCI actually took a while to get into shounen, bleach is what finally got me into it, but kind of late. My first anime I watched through with intent was a film, rented Princess Mononoke at a National Home video in the 90s. After that was just random episodes of stuff on toonami until I sat down and watched Baccano after I saw my ex watching it, which got me into the rabbit hole. I think dragon ball kind of turned me off anime for years lol. Still can't stand that show.

2023-03-17 01:36:05 +0000 UTCi typically hate slice of life/romcom type anime but there is a few I was taken by surprise at how good they were and bocchi was definitely one that I didn't even want to give a chance because of the genre but ended up being so glad I did. Even would consider it lowkey S tier even as someone who typically hates them. Not saying you haven't already, but if you haven't you might be surprised if you give this particular one a chance, maybe you'll hate it too and that's perfectly fine if so but I would consider it worth at least giving the chance.

But ppl getting salty over Bocchi is weird considering them 2 very different genres. I gotta say I wasnt completely sold on Bocchi either but somewhere a few episodes in i really started to enjoy it. ofc in a different way than bleach. Personally if i were to choose a show to watch out of the two, I would still choose bleach but thats my own taste. Bocchi is still an SS tier show and im glad it got the attention it deserved especially since it was so unknown in the beginnig

Every time some random series pops out of nowhere and kicks "BiG tHrEe" in the balls, all shounen fans rush in to shit on it...and all shounen haters rush in to praise it more even if they didn't watch it or in edge cases didn't like it, just to fuck with Shounen fans. And thats how internet gets on fire...and since there are like 12 shows in "big 3" and good shows poping out of nowhere are more common than ever, it's happening more and more often

Jkjk everyone watch what they like, but shit like Demon Slayer winning any awards (other than "best looking") is just absurd, and it makes anyone with any taste mad...and on the other hand shounen fans usually haven't seen any other anime, so we have to understand both sides

You have one group who will just hate on stuff they haven't/refuse to watch and love to call everything mid. You have another group that gets super pretentious about their "taste." The whole thing is exhausting. I was a battle shounen guy for a long time and thankfully Steins;Gate kicked me out of it and now I just watch as much as I can. A rom-com (Kaguya) and a Shoujo (Fruits Basket) are in my top 5 anime. (No co-sign for Kaguya or Edgerunners hurt lol)

The CSM fans were the people who i've seen been saying shit about Bocchi most of the time especially on posts about weekly rankings and stuff. Definitely agreed with you tho, these two shows cannot really be compared because they have their own demographics to cater. My fave genre is slice of life so i really found Bocchi amazing, but i am also one of those people who waited a decade for Bleach TYBW

I don't think enough people give it a chance, at least people I know personally. Completely agree with your take on it. The 2 shows don't belong in the same conversation

After all, who could hate a good song? also love bocchi so much but comparing bocchi to bleach....really ? those people.... love this video btw ! Good job !

2023-03-16 01:22:14 +0000 UTCMy main thing is I’ve never seen a single Bocchi hater who is a fan of slice of life, it’s always the shounen action fans getting salty that some girls playing music is getting more attention then their over the top lasers and sword fights Not just talking about bleach, and not saying which one is better, just my personal experiences of who’s been hating. (although I’ll be honest I love Bocchi it’s top 10 for me and I don’t think bleach is all that but I try to stay unbiased)
