Hilarious that y’all thought Marlene (firefly leader) was Sarah (Joel’s daughter). Credit to the actress for you to think she could be in her 20’s, she’s actually in her late 40’s. Also fun fact, she plays Marlene in the game as well. She’s the only cast member from the games VA cast that got to keep her role in the TV adaptation, although other VA actors are going to be in the show as well. Also love your theories so far

The leaving thing was “without authorization” - so I’m guessing had they asked to leave they’d probably have been allowed to but also under the conditions they’d never be allowed back in, which is probably why they snuck out and snuck back in to begin with. You guys really couldn't give up the daughter not being dead, but yeah she died in his arms clearly with bullets in her midsection. There are a lot of reasons why they don't want people to leave. 1: WorkForce as people leave there are fewer people to do the jobs that make the place run. 2: They don't want info getting out about the resources they may have that another town may not. They could get attacked to get the things those other places need.

I am SO STOKED yall are going into this blind. This is...my favorite story. I love both of the games. No joke, over the last 10 years I've played The Last Of Us 36 times. The second one I've only played 7 times cause my ps4 broke. This was...a flawless adaptation. Some of the scenes are shot for shot recreations. And all the extra stuff only adds to build the world and set the atmosphere. You know how bummed I was when I was talking about The Wheel Of Time. For me, this made up for that. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I am so excited for yall to go on this journey. Oh and for a thought that will keep you up at night: The Cordyceps is a real fungus that actually does control ants, makes them crawl up to the tops of plants to be eaten by birds to spread the fungus further. Luckily, it doesn't affect humans in the real world. Yet.
