2022-12-22 13:44:46 +0000 UTCThe sanctuary was not this futuristic in the LN, it appeared to be closer to the the normal world the cid and SG currently live in. I can somewhat understand why they changed it. Oliver the hero was one of a few girls that were successful when tested with the Diablos cells. Three girls Oliver of elves, a beastkin girl, and a human were used by the cult to hunt down Diablos for more cells. When they successfully help to acquire the arm for the cult, they were given the Hero title publicly but were labeled as men and hidden away to further serve the cult while lying to the people. Do not that men were completely rejected by the cells. At somepoint the cult allow for the heros to have children and their lineage were somehow add back into the masses. Their female descendants were shown to occasionally breakout in "possession", likely cause by the Diablos cells in their bloodline. To further hind the truth the cult promotes the excommunication of the girls with possession from society. The then abduct the girls and use them in further research.

Olivier was the successful and remained obedient to the cult and fought against Diablos. Olivier was an elf, the witch was human, and I'd bet there was a successful beast person as well. I'd further bet all of the possessed girls in the current age are descended from those 3 successes. Alpha, as an Elf is descended from Olivier, Human possessed like, Nu, are descended from the witch, and beast possessed like Delta are descended from the unidentified successful beast person. The cult probably let them have children, or even forced those original 3 successes to have children. Even if they couldn't control them, because they needed to keep the possessed blood lines alive to use later through the ages.
