If Tommy took the tongue first there's no way he would have lasted until morning. People lose toes & fingers in accidents at work all the time & are fine with no rush, they put them in a bag of ice & the hospital can reattach them after a few hours. My grandfather lost half his finger to a manual wood saw back in the 1930's in a small town in Ireland & his mother treated it & nothing bad happened to him. Someone loses a tongue & doesn't get it treated quick they will die of blood loss within minuets. It's just a muscle & blood vessels. But yeah, if Tommy went for the ears, nose, eyelids, fingers & toes he could then have just made cuts along his arms, body & legs to stretch it out until the morning. Tongue, throat, cock & balls or cutting too deep on the inner thigh would have been game over real quick. The guy was too emotional to think straight, lost his cool & really didn't know what he was doing. Well he probably did know that but was not in the right frame of mind to think about it properly & was too filled with rage & just going with his gut.
