it was a chapter extra random fact / worldbuilding note in the manga describing the village - saying 'fun fact, (toilet) is an employee of the hotel too!' implying it's a cave raider. Deffo the weird author fetish jutting in, it's harder to ignore after rewatches. At first it seemed like that mainstream western modern author 1920-60s iirc that said they wanted to include bodily functions toilet stuff cuz nobody else would, and it was core human function. At this point it's gone a bit too focused on.

This is explained in the manga Extra Pages :) Another fun fact from the manga: 17:48 The Toilet that Riko uses is an Employee of the Inn. Guess these guys really find value in the craziest of things. :) One loves to sell his Nuts to get eaten, and the other loves to lick people's shitty asses.
