episode still missing 😢

Mochi

Just an FYI, the video in this post isn't house of dragon

translucentmin

"Aegon showing up to make sure his kid is okay" LMAO that's a crazy conclusion to draw

Sam

Isn't she not choosing family in that moment? Her grand daughters' lives are being threatened by the Hightowers, and she just scowls at them and flies away. When those girls die in the coming war, it was Rhaneys who let it happen. ALL of the enemies of her family's survival were in front of her dragon. It was very poor witting to put her on dragon back, in front of the stage with all that context. That situation should only end in fire. The writers wanted melodrama, and forgot about writing the characters. Disappointed.

TitanMachine

When the kin you would be slaying is planing to kill all your other kin, and end your family line...

TitanMachine

facts!

LightMyPath Star

ooooh I'm so angry I need a minute here. So much to say so little f@cking space First of All F@ck Alicent, Criston Cole, the Hightowers and the f@cking horse they rode on. The queen that never was Is a gangster. I will be back here with more as soon as my anger lets me. Fr this show is giving me second hand anxiety. I'm team Black all the way, I have not read the books nor am I going to read them. This is a tv series reaction not a book club, I agreed with Adorkable, it doesn't matter how the books are, we are watching the series and it is what we are judging and reviewing so lets stop comparing it. I get it I was feeling the same way with some parts of Sandman but I just chill, compartmentalized and simply enjoyed the journey I don't regret it one bit

LightMyPath Star

Adorkable is so innocent she really think it's a chance that Aegon went to visit illegitimate kids at a kid fighting pit when he does show interest in his kids with his sister nor his sister/wife and her sometime grapes the help or the more likely he watches kid fighting and has his kids fight in it I'm 100% team black and I haven't read the book and go to my comment in episode 7 to see my thoughts on why I picked black both sides are but the greens are worse and they will never be happy they want always I agree Rhaenyra made a lot of bad decisions worst was getting cheeks to Criston I'm dropping his Ser because he has wanted her dead since he realized he was just a booty call and Daemon manslaughtered or murder one his first wife depending on how good his lawyer is while Alicent tells a clearly crazy and shady guy that I'm sure she knows likes her that she wishes her father was hand again so he could back her decision and give her more power then was surprised he had his brother and father killed when she knew the king wouldn't let him quit that my biggest issue with her the whole holier than thou she don't care about people doing wrong as long as it benefits her and she acts like she innocent Criston does what he wants because she let him because he is in love with her and would do anything for her

Kwame James

How they misunderstanding something in every scene XD

Alex sh

Nah that’s not true, when Aegon invaded he made sure to not hurt the common folk, and his invasion was the war where the least common folk died. When Robb was fighting, he didn’t burst into random places and kill people. He only hit the houses of his enemies. When the wildlings were attacking random towns, Jon and the nights watch kept the common folk at the wall for protection. Cersei and the rest of them didn’t care much but they were clearly villains, as was Robert Baratheon if you ask me. Yes there were some that didn’t care but there were others that did, Rhaenys was never one to just trample over common folk to make a point, shit not even Daemon would, he was known as Lord Flea Bottom because he was always with the common folk. This character change just for the sake of looking cool wasn’t smart.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Did Robert actively kill kin? I'll assume you mean Rhaegar who would be quite a bit removed from Robert. I see what you are saying, and all of them apart from Stannis were not close kin. I deliberately mentioned three religions. Stannis is down with the god who doesn't seem to care about kinslaying. I would agree with those who say that they wrote themselves into a corner there, not justifying the scene at all. The only redeeming factor for me is that I know that there is likely a payoff due to what happens in the books.

Barry

Lees face after that foot scene was golden. Man was contemplating some deep life decisions

Danny

@yaboyrocklee They've made tons of changes to the book but i rarely mention them in the comments, i only mention them when i think the change doesn't work but i don't want to come off as not liking it just because it's different, they've made some great changes to the book. I just don't think this is one of them. Not saying you're doing this but don't reduce my dislike of it down to it being different from the book, it doesn't work within the show, and that's my main criticism, i just brought up the book to highlight that it's a show criticism because they invented the scene needlessly imo. If you put a character in a situation where they can wipe out all of their enemies and they don't do it you better have had an ironclad reason to invent a scene like that and they say in the after episode that they did it cause they thought it'd be "awesome." No logic other than that. When you do things like that you're bound to create scenes that make no sense cause your main concern stops being the story and the characters and has shifted to spectacle.

Trayvon Brown

Very much like homelander for me I can see how he turned out this way and sympathize with that but not with what he does now

MrGuy3000

or treat him well enough. the king too. he ignored his younger children (yes he loves Rhaenyra the most and we love him for that but thats no reason to neglect ur other children) and Aegon wasnt raised properly. At least from the scenes we've seen, Alicent clearly treats him harshly and have been wanting him on the throne for a while when he clearly didnt want it. They probably placed such high expectations on him while not actually caring for him. Aegon is trash but part of why he is now is because he never knew the love of his parents

Danny

Even in the books, the lords choose to fight wars instead of protecting the people. Winter was coming and a lot of the realm was starving. The common folk were drag into fighting that didn’t concern them. Just think about all the innocent people that died in Robb’s war.

Dirty_Oldman

You literally chose to focus on one part of my comment, and then decided the full thing didn’t make sense. Anyways you’re statement is still false because their are plenty of GOT and HOTD characters that wanted to keep the common folk out of the fighting, especially in the books, these show creators though, choose not to show that and it’s weird to me.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Criston is just Alicents Daemond but better in combat minus a dragon. A lot of people hate him understandable so i won’t defend him.😂 I will defend the performance the actor is doing, he’s doing a great job!

Donquixote Dolph

So I respect Rhaneys for not killing her family when she had the chance but I also think, strategically, it was a huge mistake. HUGE. The entirety of Alicents line of potential heirs were present and could have been wiped out with one word, solidifying the position of Rhanerys and removing the need for war. Grand scale of things she chose family over conflict and it will bite her in the butt I’m almost certain. Also did we notice how Alicent’s daughter - the new queen - seems to be telling the future? May be worth listening closely to her when she’s on screen. After all, there was a beast beneath the floorboards.

Teyon Alexander

I don't get this "kinslaying" explanation though, Otto wanted the Kingsguard to go kill Aegon's kin: his sister (Rhaenyra), his uncle (Daemon) and his nephews (strong boys and other ones) and Rhaenys grandchildren. At this point kin is being slayn regardless lol

Andre

Kinslaying is not a joke in this universe, Martin goes out of his way to state that in all his works. Whereas killing smallfolk is practically a requirement for rule.

Barry

Robert Baratheon is a kinslayer and was made king afterwards Stannis is a kinslayer Robb Stark is a kinslayer There are degrees to kinslaying and there is actionable proof nobles were held against their will to accomplice Otto's coup. Not to mention Viserys had publicly proclaimed Rhaenyra heir for more than 20yrs. Rhaenys had a slam dunk but the writing didnt allow her to take it.

terrakion.is.good

Kinslaying is the highest sin in westeros, there is no real coming back from that in the eyes of both the squid god, old gods and the new alike. **Pseudo spoilery for the ASoIaF series below** The most crazy evil man in the ASoIaF books is afraid of being outed as a kinslayer, that should inform people how taboo it really is.

Barry

Let Mike from Breaking Bad breakdown why what Rhaenys did she'll probably regret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BE4QcwX4dU

Andre

Haha yeah I get you! I had faith that you knew what was up.. it was just such a funny way to end the whole scene 😄 and I don't blame you for being in disbelief.. out of all the scenes that could've happened, and out of all the people it's with the Queen.. it's like the writers had watched your reactions, and went.. Here's one just for you Lee!

Salmonero

Nothing but facts in the intro. My only comment to this episode is that Rhaenys was wrong not to make the Greens into Green tea right there. We at war baby let's go with the Dracarys – if you catch them slipping it is what it is lol. It's not like Otto wasn't plotting on sending the Kingsguard to where your granchildren are kicking it.

Andre

Thanks for showing Alicent and the Greens some love in the intro. I really hate Criston. Was Lee reincarnated as Larys Strong? My new top player is the White Worm. Her accent is so sexy Oh My God🥰.

Jerome

Lol

Rock Lee

😂😂😂😂

Rock Lee

I understand. Thanks. Another example of the show being different from books lol.

Rock Lee

Lol. I ask questions that I know the answer to. Lol. I don’t even know why i do it. Adorkable keeps answering them like i dont know lol. Last episode. I was like “whos the agressor?” I did that last episode and folks thought I didn’t understand r*pe was happening. Lol. If i question an obvious scene. I’m just in disbelief at what I’m seeing basically.

Rock Lee

Rhaenys's position is team Rhaenyra, her granddaughters are betrothed to Rhaenyra's sons Jace and Luke. Also, her granddaughters are Daemon's kids and at least one of them has a dragon so they will be involved in the fighting 100% since the Greens will have to eliminate them. It kind of makes the last scene kind of dumb since Rhaenys knows she will have to take Rhaenyra's side anyways.

terrakion.is.good

I died when Lee said "What is he doing?" 😅 I mean c'mon dude.. YOU know what he's doing, and why he's doing it. And to be honest.. as shitty as that world is to live in.. Slavery, Child pit fights, Assault, Assassins and beheadings.. are all common things. Even random Dragon attacks! Two consenting adults using each other.. pleasure in exchange for some of the most powerful and secret information you can get ahold of. It's probably one of the best deals you can get, considering how messed up that world is. I mean he even got a whole building set on fire, with probably some people in it.. and all she had to do, was whip out them toes 🤷‍♂️

Salmonero

Lol

Rock Lee

Surprise cameo appearance by lee at 50 min mark.

Sonicluis

Cole: " Every woman is an image of the Mother, to be spoken of with reverence." Lee: "He's like me fr"

Kinnaye

Your comment makes no sense. It’s well established in GOT that the lords of Westeros care little for the common folk. They are all busy playing the only game that matters.

Dirty_Oldman

I fucking hate Criston. But Aemond is goat

Shakir

Alicent is so stupid but fascinating as a character . You drug King then listen to his “final wish” then pretend to be shocked knowing that this will lead to them have to killing Rhanerya. She’s a walking contradiction but like it’s been stated she does evil shit postering as good. At least Otto has the backbone to wish something and fulfill it. All Alicent does is cause problems then her “conciouss” makes her renegade and try to reconcile when it makes it worse. I love it

Shakir

Yea the writer and director that created this scene hasn't read the books and judging by her recent interviews, she clearly doesn't understand the characters or their motivations. She literally said she only put that scene in there because it sounded cool, but it does make Rhaenys look dumb as hell, like you're okay with killing hundreds of common folk that had nothing to do with anything, but not the ACTUAL ENEMIES??!! make it make sense. Now from here on out, anything that happens is Rhaenys's fault. I kind of hope they get rid of this writer for next season.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

The beginning discussion is 100% cap. DNasty and Adorkable are miss representing some of the team black or just arguments about Alicent in general. They can’t make a good faith argument because of what they believe Alicent or Rhaenyra to be. There is bias that they have and it’s not from simply watching what the show is showing. It’s how they are interpreting what the show is saying, which is different than what the show is trying to say. Everyone can have a bias but you have to understand that you’re not being objective.

Dirty_Oldman

Ngl I’m full on team common folk after this episode😂🤣🤣 imagine just minding your own business at the coronation and you get clapped by a dragon 🫠 Edit: but I do like ser criston and Aemond other than that I’m along for the ride.

Donquixote Dolph

Thank god that I'm neutral instead of taking sides. I understand both Alicent and Rhaenrya. Both sides are evil and still can't hate any of the people.

TsubakiIza

The deal you guys are forgetting that solidified Rhaenys as team black is that after Viserys showed up she agreed to betrothe her granddaughters to Rhaenryas children. That makes Rhaenys not cooking all the greens at the end of the episode not make sense. (She wasn't at the coronation in the books so they added this nonsensical scene.) The showrunners said she didn't do it cause this "isn't her war" but she's literally going to join the blacks after this. Also, like i said her granddaughters who she cares the most about are betrothed to Jace and Luke who are Rhaenyra's heirs, if war breaks out they're in danger. Might as well kill them all right now and end this shit before it starts. (Which the showrunners said if she'd killed them all there'd be no war.) It was a dumb scene imo, up there with Cole killing Joffrey.

Trayvon Brown

This was the weakest episode imo. Firstly, Alicent makes no sense. They're trying to have her be sympathetic but wan't to crown Aegon at the same time and those things are mutually exclusive, that's why they made up that misunderstanding about the prophecy that doesn't exist in the book. Secondly, her not being in on the plans to crown Aegon makes no sense. She was literally yelling at the kid that he'd be king in episode 6 and 7, Otto said that he finally sees she has the determination to win the game so why wasn't she brought into the plans at that point? Also, like Rhaenys said last episode, taking driftmark from Luke is also part of crowning Aegon by discrediting Rhaenyra which she was about to do last episode, what did she think was gonna happen after Viserys died? Otto has literally been planning this shit for decades and she was in on it after episode 5, it makes Alicent look dumb. Finally, Otto was talking all that shit saying Rhaenyra was gonna have to kill the kids while he was literally plotting to do that shit all along, dudes a snake.

Trayvon Brown

Adorkable and her kind heart 🥲 No, the Prince isn't regularly visiting the fighting pit to check up on this one kid. He's a deviant.

Salmonero

well to be fair to alicent her son is a rapist so there’s only so much love she can give to that man. But to be fair to HIM HES LIKE THAT BECAUSE SHE DOESNT TRULY PUNISH HIM FOR WHAT HE DOES

MrGuy3000

This episode really clapped alicent’s character for me. She has been one of the main ppl pushing viserys on that milk of the poppy last episode for years so she should know your head can’t be clear on it but she just runs with whatever viserys mumbles to her while high out of his mind and wholeheartedly believes it just makes her look stupid. Then it turns out the way she has been paying this cripple all these years for info is by letting him beat his meat to her feet? Not after all that honor and decency talk she has been constantly preaching. The fact that she has been pushing for aegon to be king since rhaenyra’s wedding to laenor and just now realized rhaenyra’s family would have to die for that to happen is baffling to me. Alicent’s own words this episode was rhaenyra and daemon would never bend the knee

jason ross

As soon as i saw the 🦶 scene i couldn't wait for your reaction lol. I gotta lot to say about this episode
