I don't care about sports to begin with and think the excessive take on sports and drama within it is dumb. I will stick with it but I just cringe at some of it. Especially cringe at that stick with an ugly ass bowl cut and creepy long ass arms.

I am still suggesting the basketball anime "Kuroko no Basket" as your next sports anime as you have done volleyball and now football (soccer) so where is my basketball :D. I played myself for 15 years bball before my knee gave out.

Hundreds of years ago it was not a given that you would be in an 11v11 wth substitutes in a field of X by Y size. With a goal keeper with players in specific positions, everything they said is literally true, that all these rules and customs appeared over time....

2022-10-16 06:00:19 +0000 UTCNot an expert on soccer but I think the anime is onto something when he said “All players were originally strikers”, which includes the goalkeeper. Because I remembered when I played soccer video games and I used the goalkeeper to dribble the ball to opponent’s goalpost, there’s never a foul whistle. If it’s not supposed to happen, then they’ll foul it when goalkeeper dribble out of penalty area and into opposite field.

2022-10-16 04:17:05 +0000 UTCEven modern day numbers still group by positions (9,10,11 forwards) (8,6 midfielders) (2,3 defenders) (1 goalkeeper) but with more of a hybrid switch to it (11s can be attacking midfielders and fullbacks are almost forced to play like wingers (11)) it’s interesting

So far the characters that have been introduced in this show were not the 9s on their respective teams. Isagi is number 11, Bachira is number 8 (a number usually reserved for midfielders) and Kira was number 10 (usually given to the most talented player, the playmaker)
