I’m really happy to introduce you to another series, one that came into being completely spontaneously And honestly, the story behind it is just as important as the images themselves))
Lolita has been a long-time fan of the Ukrainian singer Luna. She had dreamed of photographing her for years. After the full-scale war began in Ukraine, Luna moved with her family to Spain, to Barcelona. Lolita tried to get in touch with her there, but somehow it didn’t work out, and the shoot never happened.
At some point I said, almost casually:
“What if I just write to her and invite her to come shoot with us? Here. At our place.”
To be completely honest, I did it purely for Lolita. I wasn’t expecting anything special to come out of it. I definitely didn’t expect this.
Originally, Luna was supposed to come with a videographer to document the whole shooting process. But by the time she arrived, Lolita and I were already completely "relaxed", it had been an intense period of constant daily shoots, and my body was honestly exhausted.
I casually asked Kristina (Luna’s real name) if she wanted to relax a little too 😅
And she said of course! 🤣
They arrived, and I’m almost certain Luna had never been welcomed like that in her life. Probably no “stars” have, especially not the first time 🙈🤣
If you could’ve seen the scene: I walked out to greet them wearing slippers and a bathrobe. That’s it. Lolita came out in an oversized T-shirt, no shorts, and photographed the entire shoot wearing that same T-shirt 🤣
It was genuinely funny.
Kristina later said that usually everything around her is very polished, very proper, very performative. And here it felt like we’d known each other for a hundred years already. No roles. No distance. Just people.
We shot, we laughed, we talked. Then we drank tea, I started sharing my health journey, and at some point I couldn’t hold it in anymore and began to cry. Then Luna cried too 🙈
And somehow, out of all of this, vulnerability, laughter, pain, honesty, something very real was born.
A collaboration that wasn’t planned, forced, or constructed. It simply happened.
What makes the story even more surreal is that when we met in real life, Luna was genuinely surprised that I didn’t really know who she was. Maybe I had heard something before, maybe not, but I came into this meeting without fandom, without expectations, without an image in my head.
And I think that’s exactly why the connection was so pure.
But recently I accidentally found two songs by Luna on my phone that are about 10 years old and I listened to them when I was studying in Poland at the academy, but the artist wasn't signed by Luna, God knows what, so I didn't even know it was her 🤣
After that day, a real bond started to grow.
And that’s the most precious thing for me, when people truly connect, even far from home, even abroad. As Luna said, “two Ukrainian courtyards meeting somewhere far away.”
I believe it’s important to show moments like this.
To show how real connections are formed.
How art is born not from perfection, but from presence, openness, and trust.
I really hope you’ll feel that energy in this series as much as we did while creating it.
And of course, what would it be without a horse 🐴
