Shinpei, Mio, Ushio, Haine, the only 5 names I retained lol. Notice the nicknames applied to people in the discussions “shawty with the glasses”. “I like when home girl pulled out the toolie”. So if the scene is referring to someone by name it’s hard particularly in this show for me. While something like Bleach I’m fine in. Probably because the show is dense with info and fast paced.

We don't have infinite loops to spare, and the more loops Shinpei goes thru.. the more info the shadows can gather and ruin everything if Shinpei is ever copied. This show deserves more love, for real.

2022-07-19 14:31:48 +0000 UTCNagumo Ryuunosuke is Shinpei's favorite author that's been brought up a couple times already. That's why he reacted to her name. There's some foreshadowing lost in translation here for non-Japanese speakers. In episode 2 when "Nagumo Ryuunosuke" is recording herself on her phone, she uses the personal pronoun "watashi", which is a more feminine way to refer to oneself. However, last episode and this episode, she uses "boku" as her personal pronoun, which is more masculine and often associated with young boys. She's also speaking incredibly politely to Shinpei when she, as the elder, should be speaking casually. Then, after nearly getting shot by the 4 armed shadow, she switches back to using "watashi" and her tone and speaking pattern completely change and she starts speaking to Shinpei informally. A bit more obvious here is that she refers to "Ryuunosuke" in the 3rd perosn. Just something to keep in mind for anime only watchers.

It's basically pickled sushi. Just a reminder: In an earlier episode, Ryuunosuke Nagumo left a message on her phone saying that she tried some narezushi before she got on the ferry to the island (which is before any of the loops started). In this episode, she says she's never eaten it before. Just something to think about for your theories.
