The major difference from Nagatoro is that Marin (later in the series) is also testing him to try to ascertain his feelings.

I think a tap is the word im looking for. It's called tsukomi whiching tackling on some ridiculous situation comedically. You'll come across it quite often when you watch comedy anime.

Senpai caught her attention with his art and passion; and now she’s using her love language (being bratty) to get his attention. She always apologizes when she ends up going too far, and upsets him. I feel, we are seeing of a combination of her bratty (love language) coupled with trying to “man him up” enough to stick up for himself, and tame her. I’m excited to see how accurate my prediction is:

And looking at that anime from another angle, (in coming burns) none of the girls are waifu materials. They sell their services to be someone's rented girlfriend for a period of rental. What's to say they don't do more than their service agreements states? It's a troupe that they're going to fall for mc in this series, but in real life, none of them will even consider him.

I get a satisfying feeling of knowing their relationships going somewhere. Unlike a few romantic anime series, where the relationships of the mc made a big round and went back to episode 1 relationships *coughrentagirlfriendcough*

Then we need to repost our comments too 😝 But in slightly serious note, you can see clearly that Nagatoro is teaching senpai how to react to teasing in this episode. And she's quite "possessive" when it comes to senpai. She doesn't allow anyone to mess with him. So her friends, saw and knew what was happening, always tries to mess with senpai in order to mess with her. This anime also tells you that people aren't always bad like you imagined. When you get to know them, they turned out to be better than you thought. Just like Nagatoro and her friends. They turned out to be quite a friend to senpai as the anime goes further. Much different than what he initially imagined them to be.
