Lol...i dunno before this Arc, I never had the impression that Oden was THAT DUDE... Kin'emon spoke so highly of him, but all the rulers before were catching MASSIVE L's to the Invader, even seeing Oden get HUMBLED by White beard and Roger, I further was like..yeah he can't compete with an Emperor.. than we see, he accumulated strength during his travels...He's actually THAT DUDE. This was an incredible story and probably my favorite back story ever. Oden Sama is incredibly likeable...and the Journey isn't over here.
Spoiler if you haven't seen the next 6 episodes yet.
Also, My Kaido remarks at the end is because I'm under the impression that Kaido would stoop to that level of using a Trick to beat Oden. If it were to ever come to my attention that Kaido didn't approve of that old woman's Trick to pretend to be Momo maybe just maybe...i'd have a different opinion.
I know a lot of people will get triggered by my remarks lol..

He has done that heavy this arc to the point where in some instances the anime seems more canon than the manga. From manga reader to manga reader you know that is true. I will not spoil anything but anybody who reads the manga would agree.

Idk how fast kaido would have to untransform then hit oden in that time frame. It just seems like the anime made it seem more logical imo.

In the manga kaido was dropping to the ground after being wounded and still in dragon form, Oden was going to finish him off. But when the witch tricked Oden, thatâs when Kaido got up behind turned into human form and slash Oden. Going off of the manga, Oden wouldâve won 100%. Also, the manga interprets Kaido literally turning to human form only once Oden went to save Momo.. so it was a cheap shot. People get upset when I say this, but itâs how itâs interpreted in the manga.

The guy who tries to kill himself was denied a good death, he would be pissed. Plus there's the fact that he is known as never losing one on one yet the one guy who actually wounded him he only won due to interference. That is not good for his reputation either.

This is the guy who casually tries to kill himself and wants to start a world war just because he wants a good fight.

But to me it seems like they wanted to show that Oden was always meant to be the strongest since birth but for his shortcomings. So he was made to lose in a way that wasnât him actually losing. Especially since itâs against the person that would eventually become the strongest. Plus we saw Oden walk they the Boro breath and a number of other durability feats so I donât think itâs really fair to say Oden wouldâve lost. I could be reading it wrong but it really seems like they made the fight conclude the way it did for u to believe Oden wouldâve won.

When I look back at episode even if Kaido wanted that Old Hag to distract Oden or not it was too late for him to stop. Both of them were in mid flight when one of their strongest attacks already going. Kaido was in mid swing when Oden turned around. Just heartbreaking to see such a dominant man get taken out like that.

If it weren't for that old hag I think Kaido would lose at that moment. But like someone said, he's a lot stronger now but his dream is still the same. It didn't change when he jumped from Skypiea. He was just disappointed at time that he couldn't die or found someone to kill him so he kept going with his plan for that last war but yeah... something big is coming. Lol

Youâve seen it a bit with Ace and youâll see it with Oden but itâs like every once in a while Oda makes them stronger through stories and feats even tho they canât actively add to their power or legacy. Itâs pretty cool to me, itâs like theyâre never gone. Whitebeard, Roger, etc.

Just my guess, but understandably so, I get what you thought to be the case since it was 20 years in the past.
