Hi my dear friends,
Iβm so excited to share a new series of photographs from my recent trip to Spain to visit my dear friend Lolita β€οΈ
Honestly, this journey became a kind of reset for me, even though almost every day was filled from morning to night with shooting. Before this trip I was so utterly exhausted and emotionally drained by all the latest medical news- another ovarian cyst, new endometriosis findings, my CRP suddenly spiking over 40- it felt like the same nightmare looping again and again.
Thatβs why this journey became such an unexpected reset for me.
Sometimes I was in front of the camera, sometimes behind it, and I loved every single moment. The sets turned out so beautiful that I simply canβt stop editing. Yesterday I even woke up at 5:30 a.m. and worked until 7 p.m. without leaving my desk, completely lost in the images. Theyβre just that captivating!
And no, I donβt smoke cigarettes, although on the video you might notice me holding what looks like one ππ Thatβs a funny little accident of the trip: I normally use a vaporizer for the medical marijuana prescribed by my doctor for chronic pain, but I forgot to bring it with me π
Because the days were so intense, with constant shoots and travel, I had to rely on rolled joints instead just to help my muscles cope with the pace. It made for some amusing behind-the-scenes moments, but itβs purely medical and not a habit.
I didnβt expect Spain to steal my heart the way it did. The trip was so inspiring that Mark and I even started thinking about the possibility of moving there. From what Iβve heard, itβs possible to get a special insurance through a bank that covers medical expenses in any hospital, but we still need to double-check the details. Of course, the financial side is scary- health costs in euros feel very different from what weβre used to in Poland, so for now itβs only a dream.
Still, the warmer, more humid climate already made me feel physically better, and that alone is so tempting.
Spain itself left me completely enchanted. The sheer beauty of the landscapes, the abundance of talented and creative people- itβs just wow. Lolitaβs home is like something out of a fairytale: you wake up, look out the window, and thereβs a horse calmly standing just a meter away π΄ Animals are everywhere- friendly cats, gentle creatures- all wonderfully curious and affectionate. Iβve never seen anything quite like it!!
And of course, I want to say a billion and million thank-yous to my dearest, beloved Lolita for everything she did for me- inviting me, showing me around, and taking such loving care of me when I wasnβt feeling well. She even gave up her own double bed so I could sleep more comfortably, while she slept on a small single bed with her little child!!
Every night my muscles twitch and my legs move restlessly, and I spend a long time doing countless little rituals to calm them before I can sleep. Despite all of this and despite the fact that we were all sharing one studio-like space- she never once made me feel like a burden! Her kindness, patience, and understanding of my current way of life touched me beyond words!
Lolita, I love you endlessly! β€οΈ
Iβm endlessly grateful to the universe for giving me the chance to experience such a magical place and to meet so many incredible souls. I canβt wait to go back.
With love and excitement,
Anastasia
