Changes in Shading (+cyberjoelWIP)
Added 2019-08-10 16:13:17 +0000 UTCSo it turns out recording things is very useful. when Tsaiwolf did his panel at HCFC I managed to record most of what he did. Honestly it blew my mind that it was even possible to draw as fast as he did so i learned how.
My old technique was to do the base colours, make cell shading layers above each different colour, then blend those cell shade layers and finally airbrush. this was how I did my shading ever since I started LOL but it turns out a better way to do it is as follows
Colour the entire character one colour (in this case maroon) and use the airbrush to minus away that colour to get the light shading effect. then make this shading layer into a multiply layer and that's it! just make the colours underneath the shading.
Turns out this decreased my drawing times significantly! sorry if it sounds kind of complex I totally should make some diagrams because I found this SUPER helpful. anyway time to rest i hope ya'll have a good weekend!
