I have solved the problem, or have at least found a work around, and the answer was so simple I can't believe I didn't try it earlier: after hollowing the model in Chitubox I just hit the Repair button and it fills in all the holes! Still no idea why it creates them in the first place, but I am now able to process your superb models in my slicer of choice.

I'm prepping Karlach in Lychee right now. I'll drop a question in Discord to see if anyone else has had a problem with Chitubox.

Mike Plunkett

Try Lychee slicer, I repair models in this slicer and use only it and there are no such errors. You can try to ask in our discord server, maybe someone has encountered such a problem

I've seen the same issue with Astarion, Lae'zel, and Alfira. I've also tried it in the latest stable version of Chitubox Basic and the latest Beta and got the same result. It's not a Chitubox display artifact as I first noticed it when I imported a hollowed Karlach into Lychee to do the supports and was told that the model had something like 4,300 holes in it and wasn't useable. I did, however, manage to successfully hollow out a model from a different producer without this problem, so there is something about your models that Chitubox doesn't like.

Mike Plunkett

That's odd, first time I've heard of this problem. I've always done cavities in Lychee. Does this happen with all files?

I'm having a weird issue with this model in Chitubox. Whenever I try to hollow out either the bust or the full height model, thousands of little holes appear in the surface as if individual polygons have been randomly deleted. I would also test it in Lychee but that application is being a pain in the arse and not letting me log in.

Mike Plunkett

Strange, I printed all the pieces and should have no problems. Try opening the Lychee file and adding micro supports to the places where you have problems or increase the contact point already on the existing supports

Hi. Having trouble printing the chest. head area/hair/horn have lots of failing supports, I tried to use pre supported file. So far every model from Baldurs printed fine with presupport. Anyone else have this issue?

Zoltán Makra

Fair enough, works this way also :)

this is beautiful!!!!

I thought this hair was better added with colours

Awesome model. Just one thought only. Her head is shaved at the right side but she still has hair there. The way i see in the model is flat surface making it bold at that point. Maybe make some texture to resemble the trimmed/shaved hair? Just a thought.

Geo Lo

Thank YOU for that great model!

PhanZero

Fix it, thanks!

Looks amazing! The cigar is a nice touch, I love that end scene with her! Could you fix the typo with the game's title in you post? We need more people to find the model!

PhanZero

I’m calling this variant CigarLach around the paint table
