" In my opinion, super hero and anime is too saturated, just as example, I am subscribed to a triad of patreons, one specialized in only DC, other Marvel, and the third one in Star Wars, they even promote another one exclusively for anime, mostly DB, One Piece, Saint Seiya, just saying the most commonly featured by them. Even by saying, it's going to be at your style, going to be the same problem, that niche is too saturated, maybe one from time to time wld be ok, or maybe from comics that are not that popular in a matter of speaking, like Groo, The Magdalena, just to name a few. Video games, books and movies/TV has a lot of characters that are really good, it wld be a nice this month of May was with the theme of mothers, how many characters are mothers or seems to be mothers that are so iconic, or for celebrating the fathers, creating maybe uncle Phil, uncle Iroh, Master Oogway or any other character that has been a guide. Other idea that has been spreading among some patreons, is creating figures from some artist like Luis Royo, Frazzetta, Vallejo and many others, there are some really awesome art from them that could be great figures, even art from magic the gathering, genzoman or sakimichan wld be good. The other main problem, that affect the vast majority of the patreons, are the votes, cause most of them only vote for almost the same character, some times the same month, other just with one month of difference, they always vote for the same popular characters, just because is cool, it's a waifu, the most common, etc... and again, they can say, it's going to be at the creator style, can be different pose or whatever reason, it's still the same character." I have seen some patreoms started to doing divided categories, as Sci fi, fantasy, movies, video games, etc... depending in how many models they do monthly, or even doing one character they like or is original designed by them.

2023-06-24 07:55:20 +0000 UTCIt seems to me that it is not entirely democratic for me to decide, or for someone to decide for me, what can be offered and what not (create white lists). If people didn't want characters (who have a lot of copies on Cults) they wouldn't propose and vote for them so actively. I don't judge people who stop supporting me because they don't need certain characters (it's strange if it was the other way around =)), so you can temporarily refuse patronage and return again when the characters suit you for example (this is not call to action xD).

I think you can create a channel in discord and let people list topics to be banned due to being produced to much that way you can have some fresh ideas and not feel like your just playing copy with some of these models flooding the market lol

My solution to this problem (in my opinion) is that I periodically started making characters of my choice (Amicia, Leon) and next month there will be a character that is not sold on Cults and is quite popular.

2023-06-24 02:39:31 +0000 UTCMaybe have better polls for unique stuff that there isn’t a lot of models of and not the universal answer “ insert artist name here way” most of us are vendors who sub to multiple patreons and nothing against those that don’t but I’m a business man and don’t need multiple versions of the same thing nomatter who does it and what spin they put on it , or people who this is there very first subscription to anything outside of Netflix and brazzers who won’t check cgtrader and cults and be completely satisfied with the variety available . I feel some artist go around seeing what the others are doing and think this must be what’s popular I’ll follow suite and that one person who’s only been here a month and spammed a request until someone listened and it’s being voted

2023-06-23 21:57:42 +0000 UTCYes the problem with groups is they think because I don’t like a character I’m attacking the artist which I’m not, they also think that only positive comments are allowed like folks chill you can express displeasure as well,m quit dick riding the artist or thinking he needs to be saved or he’s being attacked . I don’t like the subjects I’m paying for so I’m saying what others won’t …if I didn’t like him as a artist …I wouldn’t have paid for 2 1/2 years and would just get it free on telegram .

We all pay so just as much as y’all can be quick to support or like a project I have a right as a distributor to also not like a product either . Not everyone is going to like what every artist does, just nobody but me is vocal about it .
