Hi hi! Posting another test piece, and since this one's a little spicy I'm throwing it in this tier :)
The idea was to use the same setup, but see how different lighting techniques impact the image quality. The morning shot was done with a special sundial program that mimics the actual sun positioning for the time of day, and casts light and shadows appropriately.
Afternoon shot used that same program, however, due to the set position most of the light was blocked by the building. So to compensate I added in a ghost light - which throws in some extra light which can be colour-toned to what's needed. I'm not too sure this one worked out all that well... perhaps with another background it could look good. But hey, I gotta show off the successes and failures!
The final night shot was lit as scene only. This basically turns off the program's sun, and only uses light sources that I manually add into the scene. This works better for darker nighttime shots - and saves having to colour grade to an insane blue tone in post - to mimic that nighttime feel.
Which shot do you think turned out the best? :)
