He steps forward, the flames roaring from his body under the red moon. I felt helpless under his gaze, and my knees give in forcing me to the ground.
"Are you afraid?" he asks, his lips curling into a devilish grin. I knew at that moment that he could read me like an open book. He knew everything I'd been thinking... My feelings for him...
"Yes," I whisper, the red lunar light bathing the flames around him. "If I admit these feelings, people will see me differently. The world can be cruel."
"You're too good for this world, Justin," he says, bending down and placing a finger under my chin. He lifts my head to stare directly into my eyes. "If the world is cruel to you, then I'll be cruel to the world for you."
