Uncut AOT 4 x 23

No confirmation of anything I said in the video or correcting any theories - let the show correct me or we can discuss it if I still have questions when the show is finished in a live stream!

The previous guards have been posted there for long enough to befriend Gaby and her mates, in spite of the pervasive systemic racism they cared for her as one might with any human child (imploring her to get to safety during the Battle of Liberio). Clearly, relationships have been built over time with the Marleyan guards and the interned Eldians. Their interactions stand in direct contrast with the guardsmen seen in this episode, who are presumably newly posted here after their predecessors were killed by Sasha. The takeaway is - proximity, interaction and dialogue over time fosters understanding and trust. As a close Turkish-German friend of mine once told me - he experiences hardly any anti-Turkish xenophobia in the parts of Germany where many ethnic Turkish people like him reside, compared to areas that have fewer immigrants and minorities. It is far easier to hate from a distance.

Floch‘s speech in this episode reveals how is ideology is fundamentally at odds with Eren‘s: Eren treats freedom as an absolute, existential ideal, whereas Floch in a self-perceived act of kindness offers subjugation to the Volunteers. This supports your theory that Floch might not be fully on board with whatever Eren intends. Another thought I had during this episode is the contrast in the interactions between the Marleyian Eldians and the current gate guards of Liberio ghetto versus the previous ones
