Their interactions stand in direct contrast with the guardsmen seen in this episode, who are presumably newly posted here after their predecessors were killed by Sasha. The takeaway is - proximity, interaction and dialogue over time fosters understanding and trust. As a close Turkish-German friend of mine once told me - he experiences hardly any anti-Turkish xenophobia in the parts of Germany where many ethnic Turkish people like him reside, compared to areas that have fewer immigrants and minorities. It is far easier to hate from a distance.

Another thought I had during this episode is the contrast in the interactions between the Marleyian Eldians and the current gate guards of Liberio ghetto versus the previous ones
