Please please please react to Code Geass! You'll absolutely love that show as it echoes this one, but in a much more hopeful tone.

This reaction and analysis was great. Brilliant episode to casually unleash at this point in the story

It's more of a missed opportunity, in my opinion, than a mistake. It's wishful thinking, but I imagined how cool it would be to use Historia to explore the truly tough and inhumane choices a king or queen must make in wartime. I think that if done well, Historia could have been a compelling antagonistic force against our core Scout cast. Forced to be pragmatic for the sake of her people, so instead of a fascist uprising of the Jeagerists, maybe we could've had a toned down on the fasc Floch + Historia working with Eren/Zeke to ensure the Paradis comes out on top, even if that means going against Hange and the scouts at this point are frankly indecisive and disoriented. I try not to veer too much into fanfiction, but Historia was definitely a pain point of this season for me.

Definitely the challenge haha!! But still going to be difficult as I have to watch the monitor for reacting! :(

Thank you!! YT have been going wild over the no bangs it's been quite funny!

Which I get but it does also align with the idea that the Eldians are so evil and so bad that they shouldn't exist at all which just falls back into the same thinking of 'well the world would be better if we were gone and we also wouldn't have to suffer so maybe we should atone for the sins of the past and erase ourself" but I get what you mean :)

For me, it's not a big mistake to not give Historia more protagonism especially at this point in the series. Since she is a secondary character and already has her own arc, her role as queen continues to be touched upon at this point in the series. I like that we continue with all the main things that are happening, which are many. Still, I understand that those who love the character want her to appear more.

I feel like Zeke's motivations for his plan were different from atoning for the "sins" of the ancestors, and more of just not wanting other children experience what he had to endure. It's a very drastic method for ensuring that goal, but he's heavily traumatized and twisted by his own suffering. And the other reasons for his actions like atonement, is just added to reinforce his thoughts and ideas, while the core being that he wants to stop suffering of any Eldian children (yet to be born). But the end result being the genocide of Eldians, which is basically same that Karl Fritz wanted, just different path for it.

Always love the hair clip look

I haven't started the episode yet, but a couple tips about getting used to talking to the DSLR. The iris of the lens is your friend. If you have a forward facing screen, resisting the urge to look at yourself will be a challenge. Pretending that we exist behind the veeery center of that lens is where you'll get your most satisfying shots. Hope this helps.

The charm of this show, and what makes it one of my all-time favorite pieces of media, lies in the ambiguity surrounding nearly every facet of human existence. The intricate nature of emotions like hate, love, sadness, vengeance, fear, hope, and so on is depicted so beautifully through visuals and dialogue. The various complex feelings and thought processes that the characters experience are relatable in some way, as you can truly grasp their perspectives based on their past experiences. You might think you've figured out the villain or the antagonists after a bit of screen time, but then the show surprises you with a twist that turns everything on its head. A prime example of this is Gabi's character arc. The show makes you despise her for the same reasons it initially made you adore Eren.

Sophie (Season 3 ep 16) 😜 "I genuinely despise the Beast titan, I don't hate any character in the show but the Beast titan. I will be so happy to see him die." Initially, Isayama makes you despise Zeke, but then he turns it around, making it hard to dislike him and even evoking sympathy. The man truly is a genius. 🤯 Additionally, Zeke embodies the kind of child Grisha envisioned for Paradise, while Eren represents the child Grisha desired in Marley. The contrast between these two characters is brilliantly crafted. "Sole Salvation" ranks easily in the Top 3 of the series. It was profoundly impactful, emotionally stirring, and showcased exceptional structure and delivery. Every aspect of this episode resonated flawlessly. Plus, let's give some credit to Grisha's Voice Actor for their vocal prowess. Achieving that level of range is incredibly impressive. That was just wild. 👏💯

Once the series finishes I'll have to circle back to the Historia Pregnancy conversation. I... have some thoughts lol

Just commenting to say now that we’re on this episode, Zeke is one of my favorite antagonists in all of fiction. His mysteriousness in S2, his ruthlessness in S3, and his backstory in S4. I’ve watched many, many reactions to AoT, and there’s a significant portion of the audience that is fully on board with Zeke after this episode. Of all the plans we’ve been presented with, Zeke’s plan is relatively non-violent, and wouldn’t directly harm any of our current cast, despite the barbaricness of essentially prolonged euthanization of an entire race. I’ve also noticed a correlation between age/parenting and how a reactor reacts to this episode. Many times the early-mid 20’s reactors have a favorable reaction to Zeke’s plan, while the 30’s+ reactors who are parents are immediately repulsed and disgusted by Zeke.
