Uncut AOT 3 x 9
Added 2025-02-10 19:58:37 +0000 UTCSorry for the delay. For some reason the video was exported higher than it usually is and Patreon was having a melt down trying to upload and process.
So I had to re-export to get it up!

Yeah it’s evident that Rod Reiss does ultimately have humanity’s best interest at heart in so far as wanting to rid the world of the titans, but as he says, all he can do is bring back god into the world and pray that the next time is the time they can finally break through the First King’s curse One of my favorite characters for sure

2025-02-11 17:17:41 +0000 UTCMikasa had her moment of doubt alone, unobserved, in season 1. When she almost let the titans kill her out of grief for Eren.

2025-02-11 16:15:32 +0000 UTCI'm not sure its just expectations on eren, its also that people have to rely on him like it or not - sure he's just a kid but he has this unique power now and noone else does so they have to rely on him to use that power, there's not much they can do about it and now they've figured out that its not entirely unique and COULD be passed on to someone else but only by killing him

2025-02-11 02:18:19 +0000 UTCI think what you talked about everyone breaking down every now and then and Eren not normally being allowed to it's connected not just to the role given to him of "humanity's hero" but also to the way he acted to his training colleagues and the fact that he turns into a titan. Just the idea of being a physical giant probably gives most characters an idea of fortitude that they then project over the kid underneath that body. Also the fact that he always motivated his colleagues. How often are the motivator's feelings, the guy that is always pumped, taken into the account by the people that need that motivation? His strengh/motivation casts too wide a shadow over his still adolescent body and mind so some people don't give him a break. It can be a way of pushing him forward too. He certainly is a character worth analyzing mentally.

2025-02-10 23:58:45 +0000 UTCThe titan that Rod turns into is affectionately referred to as the "Turkey Titan" because some frames of the manga make it look like a thanksgiving turkey when it's crawling. I think there's an argument to be made that Rod and Kenny were both trying to achieve the same ends, but neither have the full picture (any more than the audience does at this point). Both are "villains" in this season, but also both heroes in their own minds. My favorite kind of "villain".

2025-02-10 23:48:11 +0000 UTCI really love Rod Reiss’ character writing. If I try to put myself into his shoes with a more real-life example, it’s like if I’m an atheist and my father is religious, but he has access to some vast trove of knowledge (“the history of this world” as Rod puts it). Then years later my atheist brother gets access to it and goes, “we were wrong our whole lives, ‘x’ religion is true”. Then after all that, my own daughter gets access to it and goes, “What you taught me was wrong father, ‘x’ is the true religion”. No matter how staunchly atheist I am, at some point I’d probably break down too and be like, “well shit, maybe I’m just wrong. Maybe I should start practicing that religion.” Of course this puts aside a lot of the actions taken by him/his group, but at a base level his motivation is very understandable.

2025-02-10 20:34:52 +0000 UTC7:25 Just a bit of comedy added in. Eren realized, that he tried to provoke/insult Rod Reiss by calling him tiny man while Levi was within earshot.
