Uncut AOT 3 x 6

I've watched up to 3 x 10 today and my brain hurts.

I am more lost than ever :/

So the religion I believe was crafted by people who knew what the Walls truly were. They formulated a worship of them that involved not touching or modifying them so as to prevent people from ever learning the truth of Titans being within them, especially as the soldiers were constantly wanting to modify and amend them against the threat of the Titans outside the walls. The general population have had their minds wiped and the younger generation have grown up thinking they are the only humans left because the rest of humanity was wiped out so they'd easily buy into a religion as they'd know nothing else! Nick very much KNEW more than he ever said and we see other Wallists in positions of power so it may be safe to presume that they actually know the truth, and have been tasked with formulating a religion that serves as both a distraction but also a form of hope in what feels like a disempowering world! At least that's my take on it! :D

Sophie Anders

I always found it weird how the walls were erected 100 years ago but in that short span of time an entire population already forgot how it happened to the point where they created an entire religion venerating them.

Szaleos

I think that if Historia's mom were the manipulative kind she would try to use Historia to get to Rod Reiss, rather than keeping her away. I would also have iiked an explanation of why Kenny wanted Historia and her mom dead. I'm guessing it was a decision of the Church of the Walls and the other nobles, but they have clearly backtracked on that decision and, as you say, it is not very clear why.

Krul

Tbf I was also on that 'experiments in the basement' hill so I get you!! I said something similar in S1 (not about Mikasa) but that I thought Grisha was doing human experiments turning people into Titans and that's how the Colossal and the Armoured Titans were created haha!!

Sophie Anders

No I just watched this, and I forgot Grisha also killed the mom, too. lol, yeah, I have no explanation honestly. Maybe she was just a huge asshole to Kenny, too. 😄

Nick

That's funny, I always interpreted it the other way. I assumed that she wanted to be his mistress and have an opulent life style, but having a child with him had interfered with that by creating political problems (for which she did end up dying lol, so I suppose she's not totally wrong) and complicating their relationship. But either way, she clearly did not want to be a mother, lol. You're far enough along now that there's no spoiler in this anymore: I still don't understand why Kenny and the other nobles wanted Riess' lover and child dead. If all of the other children were dead, wouldn't that massively increase Historia's value to them? I'm not sure I've ever fully understood this point, lol. The best I can guess is that maybe his wife was alive and she didn't want competition for any future children's claims? But genuinely I don't know. I guess it's a minor plot hole because you can imagine reasons why, but I do wish Isayama explained this one a bit more clearly.

Nick

You were able to see the complexity of the show since all the way back in season 1, so it has been very rewarding watching you finally navigate all its intricacies. But yeah, these episodes feel like Isayama just dropping a bunch of puzzle pieces on your table and then sitting in a corner laughing, knowing full well that non of those pieces connect just yet, lol. Sorry to hear you got a cold, but I hope you get to feel better soon. In the meantime, let's have a handle-free tea cup in honor of Levi: 🍵

Krul

I did want to be a forensic investigator when I was younger!

Sophie Anders

Have you considered a career as a detective? While I won't confirm or deny anything you've said, your chain of reasoning is incredible

Dagmar Makara

I will not lie - 3 x 10 had me very confused 😂 there was a lot thrown at me and my brain just could not piece it together but I'm also going to blame my head cold haha! I can confirm that I did cry at 3 x 10 and had some bittersweet feelings about Historia but you'll see soon enough 👀❤️

Sophie Anders

It just seemed so odd that there was no mention of him so it had me sus 😂

Sophie Anders

I rewatched S1 once and I haven't re-watched S2 at all haha!

Sophie Anders

I can’t wait to see it. Episode 10 is a personal favourite for me

Man Lit

I'm really looking forward to watching your reaction to episode 3x10, specially the part about Kenny's past and the dream of peace coming from the King of the Walls, but in the meantime I think I can finally share my headcannon regarding Historia's mom and why she was so detached to her: We know that the Reiss family are the rightful rulers and that, thanks to the Power of the Titans, they have almost absolute control over their land. So I don't think Historia's mom had any say in getting together with Rod Reiss. He simply chose her for whatever reason he deemed fit and she had to go along with it. We also know that, among the general population, Titans are seen with equal amounts of fear and disgust, and I believe that Historia's mom was aware that the Reiss family were Titans and she was absolutely disgusted by them. Looking at how horrified she was at the idea of Historia just touching her, I can't imagine how traumatic it should have been for her to share a bed with someone with Titan blood. I imagine it would have felt to her almost like a forced act of bestiality, and the fact that Historia was born as a product of that act, that she had given birth to an abomination, was something that made her feel tainted with unspeakable shame. The idea of cleansing at least some of that shame by killing Historia and eliminate that permanent reminder of her hopelessness and despair was definitely in her mind. But, at the end of the day, Historia was just a sweet, kind and innocent little girl, so of course she could not do it. She was, of course, absolutely horrible to Historia. It is well known that neglect is one of the most horrible and damaging forms of abuse that a child can suffer. But I don't think she was ever in a mental state where she could do more for her. She was a victim herself, completely isolated and at complete mercy of her predator. A truly depressing story about the devastating consequences brought by abusing absolute power over other people.

Krul

it allways amazes me what kinda theories you are coming up with, with sometimes only hints and a few throw away scenes 20 episodes before.. How often have you rewatched season 1 and 2 so faar? xD

ricardo böckmann

3x06 is such a lore drop, it is absolutely crazy. From Eren eating his dad, to Zachary's "art" to the lore of the Ackermann family, it is absolutely packed with information. I'm still at awe that you were able to predict that Eren ate his dad, specially because so far the story has given us no clue of why he would let Eren just eat him.

Krul

Yesterday I did 😊

Sophie Anders

17:55 it's a royal shit-show - literally

HAL

Wait so you have seen episode 10?

Man Lit

This was the plot point that I mentioned I identified back in season 2. The next morning making breakfast after watching the episode where Ymir said she'd been wandering for 60 years. I supposed then she'd been a "normal" titan (as I understood it then) until she ate Marcel (though I didn't know his name then). From that I induced that regular titans in general probably become titan shifters when they eat people who are titan shifters, and from Berthold saying "Eren doesn't remember either" I induced Eren ate someone, and his mysterious dads been gone a looooong time... And I turned to my sibling and explained my hypothesis and their response was "That kind of endlessly compounded tragedy sure would be right up Isayama's alley..." Great reaction, looking forward to so many future WTF moments :D P.S. I had a theory I held on to for a long time that Mikasa was being used in experiments by Dr Jaeger and that's why she was so strong, and why her "powering up" had flashes of lightning like when titan shifters transform, I was a little pouty when the Ackerman bloodline stuff got revealed in this ep :D

Anna Kyruin

Yeah! I try to film 4 in one go. Tad worried that my analysis isn't that good because of my head cold but we'll see haha!!

Sophie Anders

Already up to episode 10? This season is really just that good. It's def my favorite.

Critical

Right, you don’t really hear that name in anime so when i first heard it i was like «oh!!😃 ..wait.. oh..»

Frida BØ

Oh god that must be such a disorientating experience! Like "wait me?!"

Sophie Anders

Loved the reaction!! God i’m so excited for.. well every episode from here on out! 😌 Also, kinda weird hearing someone with the same name as me being talked about in the context of being eaten over and over again😂

Frida BØ

I honestly can't wait because the episodes I filmed today just made my brain go "wtf I'm so lost" hahaha!!

Sophie Anders

Oh, she's cooking, I can see the steam coming out from the soup 🤣. Can't wait for that day to come when all the pieces are laid out and you can finally see what's going on. 😉

Hezer

YUP!!

Sophie Anders

Omg you're too sweet haha!!

Sophie Anders

Right!! Lol

Violet

ok sooooo is there a patreon for the patreon? lolll we need moreeeeee

smem

Way back in the first season, we are shown the scene of eren and grisha without context, in chapter 2 around the 14th minute, only now we can know what it means

ML Snow

I didn't haha! I made sure not to read it!

Sophie Anders

Oh damn! I just read the second half of this comment. I didn’t realize sorry. You didn’t see it right?

Reginald

Please refrain from pointing things out to “not forget”. We need to trust Sophie will pick up on things when the time comes.

Jay Mistry

This fake king is name fritz. But do not forget that name “fritz”

Reginald

Oh true ok fair

Reginald

@Jay Okay, removed the questioning part, but the rest is just explaining what is already told till she watched.

Mesbah Mohamady

Let’s leave the speculation to Sophie and watch her mind at work.

Jay Mistry

Yes, that's alright For now, we can just say that the true royal family is the family of Historia's father and this true royal family fabricated a fake king and named him (Fritz) and for some reason they decided to rule while they are hidden behind shadows.

Mesbah Mohamady

I know - the show explained that and I had guessed from the get go that Historia's family was the real monarchy back in S1 :) But I still have my theories in relation to Fritz which is why I still refer to him as 'King' from time to time so people don't get confused on who I am referring to.

Sophie Anders

The true king is Historia's father. The king who is (named) Fritz is just a fake puppet.

Mesbah Mohamady

He is a very fluffy boy. See it's hard to know what the intentions are until they become much clearer especially when the show hinges on utilitarian principles. By default I'm instantly like "that's fucked up" but then I thought a lot of what Erwin did was fucked up at first and now I'm like "okay for the greater good" haha!!

Sophie Anders

Good questions were asked in this video

Reginald

Well no I was saying "I fucking knew it" to Eren eating Grisha because I did say that back in 3 x 3. Not about Grisha eating Frida. That I didn't know. I just knew that Eren must have her memories through consumption :) Also heads up that your spoiler post doesn't work because I see the entirety of the post. It's not a scroll down scenario like YT so I removed it just in case😅 Best to keep it under lock as moderators can only mod community chat not posts. So any post comments it's me that sees them.

Sophie Anders

So many plot points were connected in this episode! Would you be okay with someone wiping your memories, even if it was for your own good? Aren't our experiences and history a pertinent aspect of learning wisdom? The dark side of good intentions? 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Btw, Sully's brownish coat appears so fluffy on video.

Violet

-Sophie at the start of the video: Eren ate frieda -Show reveals who ate who -Sophie after: So grisha ate frieda, i fkn knew it! That was kind of funny😅
