Playback Issues

I've seen a few comments about people struggling to watch due to playback issues on Google Drive. I have looked at using another file upload system, but it seems they all run into similar issues when videos are popular and have numerous people watching at the same time.
This is unfortunately not something I can control and I'm rather limited in what I can use.
There are some troubleshooting methods such as:
Clear Browsing History including cookies and cache.
If the video still doesn't work try accessing via an alternative browser or incognito mode.
If that fails the only other option is to download the video but I know that's not always an option due to the file sizes being around 3 to 8GB a piece.
I have done extensive research into this issue thinking it was an issue on my end but just seems to be an issue with streaming software in general.
Patreon desperately needs to have its own video uploads 🙄 it would make things less complicated for sure!
But yes as annoying as it is - it may just require some patience and coming back to the video after an hour or so.
I'm going to be testing out DropBox with future videos so maybe, fingers crossed, we will have less issues! ❤️

That's an early access for Patreon that they may be trialing. Vimeo is 1000% a no go. They charge an extortionate amount and will attempt to charge you more the more content you upload. I've also not read good things about Streamable either - that it's unstable and doesn't work half the time. Seems to have a lot of issues because I was initially looking into it!

2025-01-09 07:59:57 +0000 UTCOne of the youtube reaction channels that I subscribe to on Patreon uploads on Vimeo and Streamable with a password and shares the link/password to each upload as a post with a picture of the video thumbnail that they'll use for youtube. They also do direct uploads on Patreon for certain series (though I'm not sure why it's one or the other for certain series, maybe they use vimeo/streamable when they have a backlog built and direct uploads on Patreon for series that they film weekly? I've never asked them).
