L seems to be more morally right, but it's surprising how unhinged he can become if circumstances require it. He only knows that second Kira may be able to kill with just seeing the faces, but he has no idea about the method, so he takes every precaution to make sure she is not able to do anything.

It's getting interesting from here, to see what kind of plan Light will execute to save her, and avoid getting killed by Rem or caught and executed by L .
