Added 2024-11-28 08:38:21 +0000 UTCThis was probably the most heart-wrenching episode yet. If you ever wanted to torture me - just make me watch this on repeat because damn.

2024-11-29 18:48:42 +0000 UTCI'll have to go back and watch (if I can without crying) but yes, you are right about the badge but I was so emotionally gone at that point that it didn't register in my head that it was Petra's :') BRB I'm gonna go cry in a corner.

2024-11-28 13:34:09 +0000 UTCOh for sure! I just think the show really forces us to wrestle with that concept of "is all this death worthless and devaluing lives? Or is sacrificing yourself for the sake of humanity worth dying for?" It seems to be very much the running theme of the show especially in showing us the bodies and the families that are awaiting them - they died for something but at the same time you can't help but also feel as if the amount of deaths feels almost pointless at some point :(

2024-11-28 13:30:41 +0000 UTCI think so. I know many people within the walls seem content to live out the rest of their lives there, leaving the consequences of confinement for future generations to face. However, it's inevitable that they will eventually have to break free—there’s only so much space for a growing population. The Titans destroying the walls and forcing humanity into even smaller areas only heightens the urgency of the situation. I see this as a war against the Titans, and like any war, it comes with heavy casualties—sacrifices that are often necessary for the greater good of humanity.

2024-11-28 13:29:37 +0000 UTCI was too emotionally broken already to catch it in the moment :') But yes I realised in editing! There was also something else I said in Ep 23 that I know people are going to be like "THE MILITARY POLICE AREN'T INVOLVED!" because I said it looked like a joint op because I SWEAR THE GIRL THAT GRABS ANNIE looks like the girl on the Military Police with her with the short brown hair! Learned after the fact that wasn't the case but I still yapped about it in 23 and 24 haha!!

2024-11-28 12:28:40 +0000 UTCPetra's father is just one final kick to the gut while you're down... still breaks my heart. Also... I suspect that was Petra's patch that Levi gives to Deiter, telling him itbwas Ivans, since we see him retrieving it from her earlier. Auughhhh this episode is so brutal.

2024-11-28 11:45:07 +0000 UTCYeah, I was also spared of that wait, as I binged S1/S2 when S3 was starting. After S2 it was about 12 episode batches with about a year between each batch. So: S2 -> year -> S3 part 1 -> year -> S3 part 2 -> year -> S4 part 1 -> year -> S4 part 2 -> year -> And final 2 specials with 6 months in between.

2024-11-28 11:43:59 +0000 UTC27:30 - The Survey Corps' role isn't strictly about direct defense against the Titans, that responsibility falls more to the Garrison. Though it does contribute to humanity's survival in the bigger picture. Their primary mission is to uncover the mysteries of the Titans, learn their secrets, and ultimately break humanity free from the confinement it's been trapped in. Their goal is to push humanity forward and reclaim freedom.

2024-11-28 11:43:24 +0000 UTCaah yes.. It´s about this episode, where Levi got a Nickname in the community known faar and beyond. Inside the walls, they would raise him to glory while Titans treamble in horror, just hearing those words in fear and sweat. Every Titan knew his name. Only a few dared to use it. And no one who faced his wrath would survive. Levi, the Human Bayblade.

2024-11-28 11:18:44 +0000 UTCOne point to highlight in Levi's fight is that, just like his squad, he started by taking out the Female TItan eyes, but (unlike them) he let his blades inside her eyeballs to prevent her from quickly regenerating. Just gets to show the difference in experience and how much of a difference that can make. Red shirts, stormtroopers, etc. We are so used to having these background character die without a second thought, but AOT never lets you forget that these characters are also people with friends, family and dreams, and that the loss of any human life is such an irreparable tragedy. By the way, you probably already noticed this, but the badge that Levi gave to Dieter was Petra's. It should have been incredibly painful for Levi to do this, but he was still willing to do it to comfort this soldier. It just gets to show how much he actually cares behind his always calm and stoic face.

2024-11-28 11:18:34 +0000 UTCOne more thing I was not sure if you caught while editing... The emblem that Levi gives Deiter is not Ivan's, it is Petra's. There was never an opportunity for Levi to have collected Ivan's scout emblem. However we see him collecting one from a corpse with the bite mark on its hand. That's just how much Levi cares. He chose to be the one to shoulder "knowing they are dead is enough" instead.

2024-11-28 10:16:31 +0000 UTCIt really is good to remind the audience of that as it can be so easily forgotten with all the action scenes and the characters taking on heroic actions. They are just young teens not fully understanding the gravity of what being in the survey corps truly means! I'm so glad you are enjoying the reactions!!

2024-11-28 08:56:06 +0000 UTCThis is the kind of episode that sets AoT apart from other shows in the genre IMO. Sure we have the bombastic action and the moral dilemmas and the beautiful animation. But AoT isn’t afraid to stew in the realities its fiction implies. Our characters aren’t action figures or super heroes here to entertain us. They’re young people suffering unbelievable trauma, they’re child soldiers who after their first battle as scouts have to grapple with the realities of war, and we the audience are made to sit with those emotions as well The YT algorithm recently def your videos to me and I’m grateful. I love watching folks experience this story for the first time :)
