people keep describing things like "titans are squashing humans like bugs" but its actually worse if yo utake hte size of the titans and humans into account, to scale, its more like squashing a hamster she's basically squashing hamsters left and right here emotioanlly thats kinda the worst size for something to fight any human capable of turning into a titan and willing to do ... this must not only have a motivation to kill but experience/motivation to do intensely cruel and uncomfortable things along the way, overcoming any form of basic human instinct

Just discovered your channel on YouTube yesterday, and bingewatched your 19 AoT episodes in two days. Starving for moAr now! Love your perspective and theories, but can't really comment on them without inderectly spoiling the plot for you, so that's it. Also loving how actually involved in the process you are, unlike some creators who seem like they do it simply because they must, and therefore not really paying attention to what's happening on the screen. The most important (in my humble opinion) quality of a reactor is to be able to enjoy the process of their work, and oh boy do you excel at that! i´m not so sure if erwin even knew about the Female Titan in particular before the current expedition. But i guess it´s fair to say that he tried / tries to smoke out the "enemy" deliberately. Therefore i would say that the "blow" refers to the permanent sealing of Trost´s Gate, thus rendering the Route they have mapped out unusable. The part with mike on the other hand seems to me like he is hiding the real reason for the expedition even to most of his subordinates.

Okay so Erwin definitely has been planning this for a while! I'm editing Episode 15 and there's so many little moments of foreshadowing that I missed. The squad talking with Levi - one of the members goes "I'd thought that all of our sacrifice thus far to lay a route to retake Maria had been negated by a single blow but now we have an entirely different hope" meaning that they've already been having significant difficulties and 'single blow' I think refers to the Female Titan. The new 'hope' is Eren and his abilities as being able to stand up to her if needs be. Not to mention Mike saying to Erwin when he says they need to justify Eren's position as a benefit to society as "you're even using that story on me Erwin" and Erwin responds "You're as sharp as ever...I'll tell you when the time comes!" As to his goal - I'm really not too sure. I think he wants to discover who this Female Titan is but likely also where she comes from as I doubt she's the only one using these abilities.

good thinking! I would realy love to discuss about this 5d chess manoever of erwin - but it would reveal way too much to you. But you are quite an intelligent and atentive watcher, so i´m guessing that you have picked most of it up annyway. So i am realy looking forward to your further analyzes of the situation in the upcomming episodes. Just one follow up question. What do you think was Erwin´s goal of this plan?

I'm thinking this was planned all the way back from the end of 13 but I would say the biggest wink towards something larger happening was end of Ep 15 and that weird question he asked Eren about knowing who the enemy is!

Short question on the whole "Did Erwin plan all this?" part.. How faar back do you think, did he plan all this(when was the first time where we got kinda an wink that he had something major planned) - and.. I wonder if you managed to spot all the levels of his plan, and what they actualy archive with that (everything about that plan was showed by this point, even though, some was not clearly mentioned.)

I do need to read the manga at some point but yes - I can see where you are coming from that the dialogue feels a bit rushed as they're desperately trying to get it all in haha!! Oh god I couldn't imagine the annoyance at this and then having to wait for next episode! My sanity would be at an end!

I don't think it's wrong to say that Levi was teaching him? It was a teaching moment for Eren. Ultimately the choice was Eren's but he was prompted to reconsider based on Levi's speech in a way that he wouldn't have had as he can be quite brash. It made him realise the faith that the squad around them have faith in him and he should extend that same behaviour. He did obey to a degree too. The ultimate result was not having him turn. Levi wasn't going to force that decision but his words still were designed to make him think deeper than just leading with his fear and emotions.

I'm confused as I don't feel I misinterpreted it at all haha? Levi's words encourage Eren to choose between being an individual and trusting only himself, or actually having faith in others and the larger picture. Levi isn't telling him what to do. He's giving him an option. But ultimately it's Eren's decision. I feel that's very obviously presented? Even the language in the scene and what you've posted is backing up that point that Eren is being given a choice. Levi is relating to him because he can understand Eren in a way that I don't think many others can, because they are alike to some degree.

This is actually one of my favorite episodes in the "Female Titan" arc. The transition from the flashback to Petra's wound (with the fantastic music in the background) is absolutely beautiful. While first watching this episode I was convinced that Eren was going to turn, but after watching the flashback, it made sense that he didn't. Definitely a very important lesson for him about trusting your comrades rather than trying to do everything yourself.

Some viewers see episodes like this (where we have flashbacks away from the main story progression) to be filler. However they're absolutely vital to having the full understanding of all the characters and their motivations. That being said when we were watching this week to week it was a bit frustrating that for this week we basically had about 1 to 6 minutes of story progress time wise. Also featuring in this episode: The animation team doing their best to include all the dialog from the manga while the team is on horseback without it feeling strange XD. This is a thing that is a constant problem in all manga to anime translations, in a manga you can drop in a frame of them on horseback and throw six or eight text bubbles in the air, but in the anime you actually have to have the characters say all of that believably within the action which takes a lot more time than reading it.

Yeah, with the exception being the last episode of Season 2. It won't have "to be continued" screen, but also won't have any post-credits scene. Otherwise I'd say the rule applies.

There are a few other episodes that have post-credit scenes (all much later, you haven't missed any) . A good rule of thumb is to keep watching until you see the "To be continued" screen.
