Historically, Freyr is (phallic) worshipped by the Vikings as a deity of fertility and peace. His twin, Freya is the Goddess of War and Death who rules over Fólkvang, where half of the dead warriors go to. The other half goes to the better known Halls of Valhalla, ruled by Odin.
