Poll of the Week #5 - Pledges for batches of works?
Added 2017-05-14 08:48:45 +0000 UTCFirst, art news update. Exclusive content update coming very soon (tonight or tomorrow). Four preview type works lined up. Aside from those, still need to finish shading and polishing the last two pages of the Narusawa-san in a Pinch comic, but should have that done in near future too. Relatively confident about getting something pledge-bound out this month.
This poll is not related to the exclusive content batch mentioned above, but it's a consideration for the future. Since I'm currently having trouble getting big finished works done (I prefer finishing works in two or three sessions, but can't currently find the time or energy for long sessions, which is really driving down my motivation), but can do the occasional quicker works, what do you guys and gals think about me charging pledges for batches of less refined works, like those currently shared as exclusive content? This would be once a month or two thing, and would likely happen because there's lack of finished high quality art for the month.
This would enable me to charge some pledges during slower times, like currently, and also allows new patrons to get their first pledges in sooner, to get access to other exclusive content. Also motivates me a bit to get at least something done on regular basis.
On the other hand, maybe some of you are only interested in the finished works, or wouldn't be interested in mere doodles, but want some color or shading on them as well.
So, here's a poll on the matter:
Assuming that many of the works would be shaded or mostly colored, how many works would there need to be to satisfy you to pledge for a batch of lesser quality art (the kind currently exclusive content; doodles, quickies, drafts, experiments, etc) once a month or two? Or would you not want to pledge for such content at all?
If this poll shows favorable results, I might try charging a pledge for a batch of works in future. If not, then business as usual. Comments on the matter would also be appreciated!
