Our campaign of 1984 RPG Toon continues, and it's time for a DEATHMATCH! Nickapotamus, our hippopotamus burglar, vs. Robert Hopper, P.I., a heavily-armed frog. In this episode, one of them definitively comes out on top.

We've got something a little special for this episode- I've uploaded the entireity of the adventure module that we're playing, "Build a Better Housetrap"! You can find it right here.

As always, if you're not sure how to get access to your personal Quinns Quest Patreon podcast RSS feed, you can find instructions right here. Please don't share your private podcast feed outside of the Patreon. Instead, share the public podcast feed, which can be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts, Amazon Music and Castbox.

That's (almost) all, folks! We'll be back next week with the final episode of this season next week, discussing what Toon was like to play.

I do wonder if I can make a version of this in Cortex Prime.

Tyro The Fox

I would adore a copy of this

Tyro The Fox

I really hope y'all love doing this, 'cause I really, really love listening to it.

Guybrush

Haha! That was super fun 😊

Bravo! The production values and the sheer joy of this one! I adored RrrrrrrRRrrobert, and Nickopotamas! Emily's sheer joy throughout was infectious and Rob's sheer brilliance for this specific genre brought me endless pleasure. Quinns, if i were to offer critic, seemed to struggle with this one in a hilarious way! Seeing what is usually a horror/drama/personal atory arc GM try to keep up with the logic and expectation of a mad PvP cartoon and flapping was so funny. So many missed gags quinns!! A frog turning into paper and sliding back into a briefcase?! Come on he surely lands in a folder marked "Aphibious inspectorcus!! Wonderful work all around. Can't wait for the debrief.

Daniel Atkinson

Thank you for this series!! Such a delight

Gojomoso

Fantastic series, can’t wait for the next one

Ryan

I love the sound design so much!

Michael Hudson

I really wasn't sure I'd like nicopotamus in this series with all his winking at first, but he's grown on me! Fun series, but I'm ready for a serious adventure now lol

Blake Smith

Rrrraawwbert was rrraaawbbbed (well maybe he sealed his own fate)

Emily J

Amazing episode! Gotta admit though that Emily was done dirty at the end, she was so close to winning 😂 Props to you Quinn for keeping Rob in check as much as you could especially as he had a lot of experience with cartoons compared to you so imagine you wanted to let that experience shine without him running away with it. Loving listening to these old ttrpgs and a pat on the back to you again for having to learn all the rules just for a two-shot!!! There is so much work we don’t see and I want you to know that I see you! :)

Jack Catchpowle

Fantastic series again, congrats to all three of you (plus whoever is doing the great editing, if that's not Quinns). Really like this format for APs.

Toon was an RPG I had back when it came out, but it never got to the table. I loved to revisit it this way. I can’t wait for your debrief. You have certainly shown there is a lot to learn and a lot of fun to be had in exploring these old games!

Kevin

That was some of the best actual play I've heard in a long time! Mad props to Rob for bringing the absolutely unhinged looney toons energy. Emily was super funny too! I love the hard boiled detective angle in contrast to the shenanigans Quinns is cool too, I guess

Oko

This is so much fun. A+ work from everyone involved. A perfect game for a one-shot too. If Jorune was shock of the weird then a smooth ride to the end, this was a rollercoaster. And other awkward metaphors. Do not stop doing this, people. (Unless you want to ofc)
