Any questions you'd like to see answered?
Added 2023-08-20 02:14:54 +0000 UTCNow, with the introduction of the (redacted for non-patrons that can still see the opening blurb), Gary obviously just got access to a lot of information. There are certain things that I will have him get answers for, obviously, but I was wondering whether or not you guys had questions that could get answered in his time on the seventh layer.
I can't promise that the questions will be included, especially since they are too meta or if it doesn't make sense for Gary to inquire about them. I also can't guarantee answers should Gary ask the questions, since the Asphons might not know. This especially concerns most traveler stuff, since I'm saving most of the answers for this until we're off planet.
So, if you got any questions you'd like to get asked and answered in-universe, this is the place to deposit them!

all very good questions, and all of them are already planned to get answered. Some of them already are, in fact, but I haven't posted these chapters yet, not even here ;)

2023-08-22 01:01:20 +0000 UTCOne good question would be how this whole quest thing works on the floor, it sounds like it goes off the idea/fact that whatever gotten to this floor has sentience/sapience, and maybe aren't just killing everything in sight? or maybe there are still those types, but the Asphons have methods in place to deal with them or something if the entity they scout out turns out to be irredeemably hostile Another would be whatever is going with the Asphons and the system, what's up with that? are the quests a way for them to escape their predicament? just a way to get some trinkets to make their lives better? also it terms of language, Gary might not be able to necessarily speak it, but being able to read some of the more common languages the Asphons know might do wonders to help Him in the future, if He doesn't get a skill for that plus, it'd allow him to read the card those saviors from the system gave him! (though he could probably just as easily have the Asphons read it out for him or something) anyways that's all I got, lovin' the story so far!

2023-08-21 23:20:19 +0000 UTCAh yeah I kinda forgot about that whole no vocal cord thing, I feel like speaking through mana could be a thing or some cheap mutation. But I could definitely see Gary just not really needing to talk to non voidlings too often making it almost a mute point. I hadn't really remembered when writing the first post but it would be cool to learn what Gary missed on the sand floor as well as possibly the 2 floors above that lore wise(unless you plan on having him teleport back up there for a walkthrough)

Magic tutoring is most definitely a thing that will happen, but I hadn't really considered languages. One issue with that would be that Gary doesn't have vocal cords at present, as the two languages he knows are spoken through mana manipulation.

Something not so intrinsic to this planet would be general info about magic and the system, did the system always exist for them, did magic? It would be nice to see not only magic information being shared but possibly languages(if you are not planning on solving this with some skill, or planning on keeping him hard to communicate with, both of which are understandable). I'm sure others will have better ideas than myself this is just what was top of mind for me. Appreciate the story so far!
