Patreon related news.
Added 2018-12-19 12:53:12 +0000 UTCHi folks, I feel that I should put this out to my supporters. I just recently learned the news that Patreon's trust and safety team had been contradicting their own term of services in lieu with what their CEO Jack Conte has said.
I'll put this youtube video by link up for more context, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X9ey1OFZjk
What this means in short, is that Patreon could shut down any content creator with just a snap of their finger irregardless if their guidelines are breach as there are some content creator who had long already broken the guidelines but their pages are still up while some who had are taken down immediately without any prior warning.
I had one of these encounter with Patreon myself during June this year. I was strolling down the path towards my day job when I check my mail to receive an notification that I was banned from Patreon for violating their term of services. The thing was that I was sure I never broken any of them, as my works are illustrative and their guideline for adult content were towards real life imagery.
Soon I found out that mass amount of NSFW artists pages were too purged from Patreon with no warning beforehand. In turn I quickly respond to the banned by writing back to their Trust & Support team to no reply.
3 to 5 days passed, no replies. Basically I was in panic mode and tried different ways to contact them, sent out mails to them to their support/trust & safety/help center and even tweet at them to no avail.
I opened up a topic on their sub reddit in hope to gather some attentions and also in turn get advice. Here is the link, https://www.reddit.com/r/patreon/comments/8pphay/temporarily_suspended_from_patreon_patreon_not/
In short, What I'm not happy with Patreon is, they changed their community guideline without informing creators and outright remove them without any written warning beforehand. And their responding time for supports are abysmal.
But with the recent scandal of Patreon, what they're telling everyone comes down to, each individual content creator there are different guidelines and there's not a universal one. So if they somehow do not like what I'm providing for my supporters they can outright remove me from their platform.
Outright severing my livelihood just because they want to appeal to political correctness/censorship who might not even patronize their services.
For now I'm still on Patreon but I'm keeping an eye out for alternatives.
Jordan Peterson and Dave Rubbin are already in motion to setting up an alternate solution to Patreon and I'll be checking out their terms with adult related contents once it's available.
Here is the video they made, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvGs5bGwWiM&fbclid=IwAR1EBAd-RmGD8ZTSUAyS1QluqxmHsHQaBtSbPadn_Ni6QftCOM4wfKc2TfU
I apologize for all these posts, it's not what my supporters signed up for. But I felt that I should let you guys know what's going on.
Putting all that aside, I'm working on [Sexual Symbiotes] Ties that Bind Part 2 right now and had just watched Into The Spider-Verse yesterday.
All I can say is, it's a work of pure art.

It's possible. Crypto currency is definitely a thing of the future and we'll have to see how it all plays out.

2018-12-20 09:28:11 +0000 UTCI think bitcoin could solve the payment issues but it's a less refine, hassle way of transferring credits in between parties.
2018-12-20 06:12:26 +0000 UTCThanks! I'll look into it.
2018-12-20 06:11:15 +0000 UTCDiscord only one rule that I know of when it comes to this kinda stuff is no children’s porn or anything like and gore but everything else is fine it seems

2018-12-20 04:44:59 +0000 UTCUnfortunately Patreon will always have the last say when it comes to the people who they allow on their platform. And they were completely fine with most things until the credit card companies and Paypal started coming into the picture. Other companies that rely on those same companies would only end up following the way of Patreon as that's how they need to get money. I'm really not too sure what other alternatives to Patreon would work and even if they do, the question then becomes how before their creditors pull the plugs.

2018-12-19 20:07:21 +0000 UTCHere's hoping it stays that way, but any of these company's guideline could change any time whether due to ad revenues or appealing to certain masses.
