December Mini-comic Poll #2

Time to vote, all you Goblins, Orcs and Demons! This poll will be open from December 9th (10pm CET) to December 12th (10pm CET).

Last poll of the year. And what a year it's been!

And here are your options:

1. The Snowy Ascent - Legends tell that those who climb Mt. Gallant all the way to the top may meet the fabulous Princess of Winter. As the legends tell, it is the Princess who controls the winters of the realm and that whomsoever find her on the winter solstice may ask for a wish.

A brave non-binary hero takes on the quest to find the Princess at the top. And after a long climb, they find the mythical lady of the mountain. However as soon as they approach, a gale whips through the air and shows that the Princess was nothing but snow. And although that might have been disheartening at the time, the powerful winds also blows our non-binary hero off the top.

As they plummet however, the magic of the mountain infuses them and changes their form into that of the Queen of Winter. A towering woman of strength and tenacity. With her new form comes the authority over the winds and the snow, which she commands to return her to her home on the top of the mountain.

2. Portal Peril/Now You're Changing With Portals -  At the Tenshyr Thaumaturgical Academy, Loquacious "Locke" Highfiddle, the venerable and rather stuffy Archmage of Summoning, has tired of getting upstaged by the Academy's hotshot celebrity Archmage of Illusion. That pesky Orc, Rhalora Drakestar, isn't just a genius with illusions and shapeshifting magic, but uncomfortably popular amongst the youngsters for her glamorous looks that the Archmage of Summoning can't help but feel jealous of - I mean what?

Regardless, with his patience having run out, Locke Highfiddle left the Academy on a sabbatical to improve his spellery above the flashy theatrics of that Orc he can't get out of his mind. Without the Academy's restrictions on unstable magicks, he might fashion forth something that'll get him the place in the limelight he deserves! 

Experimenting with what he refers to as "Rapid-creation Portal Spellcraft," Locke rips holes in the fabric of the Seventh Realm's reality to summon impossible creatures, items and geometry. But most of it is just flashy theatrics, like Archmage Drakestar's spellery. So in frustration, Locke doesn't simply rip things from other realities into the Seventh Realm, he rips the nature of those realities into himself! 

The elderly Archmage experiences a mishmash of curious changes, warping him from a human to something quite new. Not that the effects are unwelcome - the mage feels themself growing stronger, more vital as they shed years and gain size, and over time he sees that he's becoming far more beautiful than his rival Archmage.

By the end of the sabbatical, the Archmage of Summoning reintroduces herself to the Academy as Loque, a youthful chimaera of alien beauty and knowledge that surpasses any of the other educators there. With a new boldness of spirit, Loque has a charisma and brilliance of her craft up to match her rival, and knows all about how to have fun with portals.

3. The Revealings' Day Gift - A Human man finds himself in the Gateworld after a long life in the Humieverse (or "Earth" if you must). After arriving in the Airese Counties after many days traveling north on the Renoi River, his heart guides him to a small village as winter sets in. But the Kindred there are good and kind-hearted, especially a middle-aged couple who offers the old man a place to stay as long as he needs. 

The couple, a Shyn man (Shyn are like succubi/incubi) and an Orc woman (you know what Orcs are) enjoy the old man's company and many tales of what the Humieverse is like. His tales are tinted with an air of regret and a heavy-heart though, as he recalls many events of his life that he wishes he could do again, but right.

As winter sets in, and people grow jolly for the coming Revealings' Day (Gateworld "Christmas," A Flame Is Lit is gonna explain more if I don't do it earlier), the old man finds himself alight with energy each day and helps out more and more at his new home. Knowing about the inevitable transformation, he carefully observes that each day he does indeed look younger and less like a Humie. 

The days pass, one by one and there's always something new the next day. Tusks growing from his lower jaw. A slender tail starts growing on another. Horns sprout from his skull. And one day it starts becoming clear that the changes are no longer affecting a "he" anymore.

On the winter solstice morning, she wakes her beloved "hosts," whom she has grown comfortable with calling mother and father. And together they celebrate Revealings' Day, happier than they've ever been before.

4. Cuter when Small - A rude Orc who's having a very  bad day accidentally crosses paths with a Witch who is also having a  very bad day. Without really thinking it through, the witch casts a  Curse of Introspection on the Orc which makes him start pondering why  he's been such a jerk for so long.

As the curse progresses, the Orc transforms into a shortstack Halfling girl. And despite all the height and strength she's lost she's never felt more comfortable and assured in herself and goes to thank the Witch who apologizes for her reckless casting earlier.

5. Soaring High On Metal Wings - A talented young designer in Empire Bay makes his living by creating cute and friendly "Cyberfae" training modules to teach people how to use their new cybernetic replacement limbs in simulations. being a full egg, he continues to painstakingly design models that are closer and closer to his vision of a Perfect Self, until he identifies so strongly with his avatar that he decides to become her real-world equivalent.  

Several years, one gender transition and many augmentations later "Dexa the Cyber-Pixie" finally takes flight, enrapturing the world with the full extent of what cybernetic modification can do while living her best life.
