For my first night, I stayed at Space Hotel Centar Kuala Lumpur. I booked it through tiket.com for Rp198,000 (around USD 12). Now, if you’re wondering whether it’s cheaper to book through tiket.com or other platforms — the answer is: it depends! Sometimes tiket.com has the better deal, sometimes not.
When I arrived at the hotel around 3 p.m., I checked in by showing my passport. There was a tourist tax of RM10 (about Rp39,000 / USD 2.50) and a refundable deposit of RM50 (around Rp194,000 / USD 12), which I’d get back at check-out. Speaking of which, the check-out time here is noon.
“The coolest part? The hotel has a space and astronaut theme, so the interior felt super unique — kind of like stepping into a little sci-fi world. From the futuristic lighting to the sleek capsule design, it definitely gave off a fun and out-of-this-world vibe.
I chose the male-only room since the hotel separates the capsules into male and female sections. In the room I stayed in, there were 12 capsules in total. And here’s what it looked like.
For luggage storage, there were lockers right next to the room. From what I saw, they could only fit suitcases up to around 24 inches — so if you’re carrying a bigger one, it might be a bit of a squeeze.
Let’s take a peek inside the capsule! For someone like me who’s 180 cm tall, it was still super comfy — no cramped feeling at all. Inside, they provided a towel, two pillows, and a blanket. There was also a mirror, a small table, three hangers, built-in speakers for music, two reading lights on each side, a main room light, and even a mirror light that you can adjust to your liking.
Oh, and you can also control the AC inside the capsule. Personally, I ended up turning it off and sliding the door shut because there was a little gap that let cool air through anyway.
As for the bathrooms and toilets, they were on a different floor — and of course, separated for men and women. The showers came in different sizes too, some smaller and some bigger, so you could pick whichever felt most comfortable.
Inside the bathrooms, they already provided soap and shampoo, plus a hairdryer — super handy so you don’t have to pack too much. Honestly, it made things really convenient.
Personally, I went for the bigger shower — you know, just so I had enough space to sing a little concert and maybe even do a cartwheel in there (okay, maybe not the cartwheel part, haha)
There was also a common lounge area where you could just chill, chat, get some work done, eat, or even hang out with other travelers. And for families, they even had a little play area for kids — super thoughtful!
For my Muslim friends, no worries — there’s also a prayer room (mushola) here, which I think is really nice and thoughtful.
And if you’re craving something to eat or drink, there’s even a cozy little café in the lobby. Perfect for grabbing a quick bite or just relaxing with a cup of coffee.
All in all, if you stay here, you’ll feel right at home. The place was super clean, smelled fresh, and the Wi-Fi was fast enough to keep me happy.
And no worries about going hungry — there are plenty of food spots and 24-hour minimarts around, so you’re covered any time of day (or night).

For my first day, I mostly just rested inside the capsule and grabbed some snacks from the nearby shops. Gotta save my energy, right?
Can’t wait to share more — stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventure!
