This Kuala Lumpur trip? Honestly, I wasn’t even sure I was going… but here I am!

At first, I planned to visit Kuala Lumpur with my family. But for some reason, I ended up going solo instead — especially since I had other countries lined up to visit after this. On July 27, I hadn’t even booked a hotel in KL yet, but that didn’t stop me from going full send to the airport anyway!

So there I was, leaving Bandung at 5 in the morning to catch my flight from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

By 8 a.m., I made sure to stick to my little morning ritual at the airport — let’s just say a quick restroom break before boarding. It might sound funny, but it’s honestly a must for me whenever I catch an early flight.

My flight to Kuala Lumpur was at 11 a.m., which meant I had around three hours to kill at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Not too bad — just enough time to grab some breakfast, chill for a bit, and people-watch while waiting for boarding. Honestly, I didn’t mind; it gave me a chance to soak in the pre-trip excitement.

Around 10 a.m., I finally got around to sorting the rest — a roaming data package and a hotel booking (yes, super last minute, I know). Then, right on schedule at 11, my flight took off. I flew with TransNusa this time, and the one-way ticket cost me Rp839,000 (around USD 52).

My ticket also came with 20kg of checked baggage and 7kg of cabin allowance — plenty for my short trip. According to the pilot, the flight would take about 1 hour and 50 minutes.

By around 2:30 p.m., I was already through immigration and had picked up my luggage. From there, I headed straight to the ticket counter to catch a train to KL Sentral. The ticket cost RM55 (around Rp213,000 or about USD 13), and I paid using my credit card at the self-service ticket machine. Super easy and quick — I barely had to wait!

The train ride from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to KL Sentral took only about 28 minutes — smooth, clean, and super convenient. By around 3 p.m., I had arrived at KL Sentral.

KL Sentral isn’t just a train station — it’s basically a huge hub where everything connects: LRT, commuter trains, and even intercity lines. And it’s not only about trains! Inside, you’ll find plenty of food spots, cafes to hang out at, and even a shopping mall. The best part? My hotel was right next to KL Sentral, just a short walk away. Super convenient!

Curious what my hotel looked like? Stay tuned for the next chapter!
