Hello there!
If you’ve never been to a sauna before—don’t worry, I’ve got you covered from the very beginning.
After a full day of activities—whether it’s working out, a long day at work, or even swimming like I did—it’s super important to take a shower or at least rinse off before entering the sauna. This helps keep your body clean and the sauna environment hygienic for everyone.
Oh, and don’t forget to bring a bottle of water too! Staying hydrated is key.

But honestly, going into the sauna right after swimming hits differently—it’s a double dose of comfort! Your body’s still chilly from the water, and the warm sauna feels extra soothing. Pure bliss.
Here, I’m getting ready to take a quick shower before heading in.

For this first rinse, I used warm water—it helps the body relax and makes the transition into the sauna feel even smoother. Nothing too hot, just enough to wash off and get comfortable.

Next, you can prepare a towel—this part’s totally optional.
You can go with a big towel to wrap around your body, or just bring a small one to sit on inside the sauna. Totally up to your comfort and style!

Do you have to be naked in the sauna?
Well… it depends! Every country, culture, and facility has its own rules.
For example, when I visited Japan, going into the sauna naked was a must—it’s part of the culture there. But in Indonesia, it varies. Some places strictly require you to wear at least underwear, while others are more relaxed and let you choose what makes you comfortable.
Once you’re all set, just head right into the sauna. Let’s go!
