Taking a bus to Bangkok, Thailand???

Around 9:00 PM, we headed to the bus pool near the hotel, which was within walking distance. The departure was scheduled for midnight, so we had about 3 hours at the pool. We settled in here. The ticket price was around $35 per person, and the journey would take about 12 hours. Tickets could be purchased through the 12Go app. The bus pool is located at Giant Ibis Pool Phnom Penh.

I was feeling pretty tired and looked a bit rough since I hadn’t showered after being out in the heat all day.

Luckily, the pool area was still empty and it was just us, so I decided to take a shower even though the bathroom was only for using the toilet. I had to use the shower jet instead :(

After waiting for 3 hours, our bus finally arrived, and we were called to board.

The bus was nice and clean, with captain seats.

Before we departed, the conductor explained the journey. He spoke both Thai and English. After that, we were on our way. I immediately fell asleep because I needed to get ready for suhoor at 3 AM. The lights in the bus were completely turned off, so it was totally dark. When my alarm went off, I got ready for suhoor. I had already bought my food at Aeon Mall earlier during iftar. I ate in the dark because I didn’t want to disturb the others who were sleeping peacefully. I only have a picture of the dates I ate after suhoor :')

After finishing suhoor, I went to the toilet on the bus. It was really clean, but quite small. You can check out the video here!!

Toilet Bus Phonm Penh - Bangkok

Around 6:00 AM on March 28, 2025, we arrived at the Cambodia-Thailand border, so we had to go through Cambodian immigration first. We used lanyards as identification for the passengers, making it easier for the conductor to recognize everyone.

After passing through Cambodian immigration, we walked to the Thailand Immigration Office. The process here took about 2 hours. We were ready to depart for Bangkok around 8:00 AM.

Finally, I arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, around 12:45 PM. After getting off the bus, my friend and I parted ways as we had different agendas. You can imagine how hot it was in Bangkok at that time!!! I sat down here while waiting for my Grab to take me to my hotel.

Finally, I arrived at the hotel around 1:15 PM, but check-in time was at 2:00 PM, so I waited in the lobby. And guess what happened? YES! An earthquake in Bangkok!!!! You can check out the video while I was sitting there, feeling exhausted and drained.

EARTHQUAKE THAILAND

My hotel was only 2 km away from the building that collapsed in Bangkok, Thailand! It was so close! While I was in the hotel, everyone was just sitting still because the building seemed so solid and didn’t make any noise, so we all remained calm. After a while, we casually went outside and then realized that it was actually an earthquake, and... the shaking was still happening!! It went on for a long time and was pretty strong! But after that, I was fine and went back into the hotel. I was able to check in, but the situation outside was very chaotic. Ambulances were rushing by, the streets were congested, and several malls were closed for the day.

What happened next after the earthquake???
