Weekly question: What is something you’ve always wanted to learn?

Drums! I don't know where it came from, but for some reason, I love the idea of being a drummer. I think drummers are so freaking amazing. Watching anime has introduced me to a lot of rock songs that are on rotation in my playlist. And I always catch myself air drumming while listening to them. I'm talking bout headbanging and all. I don't know when but I know that someday in the future my neighbors are going to be very mad at me🥁

One of my favorites:

See you in a video very soon and thank you all for your support <3

Comments

I'm not rewatching them on YT. I was just hitting the like button. If that's helpful, I'll continue. If it's not, let me know!

Melissa

I appreciate you melissa. That definitely helps. However I know most people come over here on Patreon to get away from all the craziness that YouTube can be hehe. I don't want to ask you guys over here who already supported more than enough, to go do some extra work on YouTube. Just cuz I don't want any of y'all to feel obligated to go support extra on there, ya know But if you do come across any of my videos in the future I wouldn't mind you stopping in to say what's up 🧡

Franklin

Question about YouTube: Does it help for people to like your video reactions on there as well? I just went over and liked all the IWTV videos (already subscribed on YT). I'll do that for the other shows of yours that I follow if it helps you on YT. Let us know??

Melissa

Thank you 🥺

Melissa

Yay! Hope you enjoy it. I'm a big fan of speculative sci-fi (the kind that asks "what if the world was different this way?", more than the battles with aliens kind), so I'll recommend a couple I think you might enjoy: - Annihilation (2018) It has a few horror elements but it's not a horror movie, it's more allegorical and thought-provoking. Five scientists investigate a meteorite that landed on a lighthouse and it changed everything. - Ex Machina (2014) Now that AI is such a debate topic, this is a slow burn of a thriller about the implications of making a sentient being. - Gattacca (1997) Although it was made almost 30 years ago, it's more relevant than ever, as it explores a future of genetic engineered humans.

Lola Lirola

I love what you said about how it connects us through time. One day! I think it's something you really enjoy especially for that connection Factor

Franklin

Coming at you today. I'm excited to watch it

Franklin

I'll give it a listen on YouTube. And I'm rooting for you. That's awesome

Franklin

yeppppp. Someone told me to get a drum pad. Less expensive than the real thing but an easy way to get into it

Franklin

Nah that's a pretty sweet answer. Crochets is such a chill and productive hobby. Go for it. I have a neighbor who even does it without looking, she crochets while watching TV. That's so sweet about your mom and the nut rolls. Maybe give it a shot someday, experiment and try out different recipes. Maybe your taste buds and Mama's memories will guide you 🧡🧡

Franklin

You got a lot to catch up on haha. But that's a good thing. The week has been fun thank you I love that you have so many interests and things you're actively trying to learn. They can get frustrated for sure. Good progress is often slow. As long as you're doing it that's a big step

Franklin

The week is nearly over and I finally have time again to write comments 😊 You seem to have had a busy week as well so far! I hope it was enjoyable up until now, I'm really excited to catch up with all the reactions. I've always wanted to learn how to make my own clothes. I started to learn how to sew, crochet, and knit last year - all at the same time. I'm not particularly good at any of it yet but I have to say it's quite fun! I also always wanted to learn how to play the piano or make really nice nature drawings. I have started a couple of times but I'm not consistent enough in practising regularly - usually because my schedule doesn't allow it or because I become hyperfocused on something else. But I nevertheless always end up feeling like I should progress faster than I do, and then I end up getting frustrated with myself and my expectations which in turn results in me quitting, only for me to start all over again a couple of months later 😂 Maybe it will stick at some point.

Maria

Crochet and knitting are pretty easy to pick up but MAN does it take forever to finish a project! I like sewing a lot better :)

Valaree

Prepare for a lame Gen X-er answer: I've always wanted to learn to crochet/knit. Obviously, I still can, but I never seem to do anything about it. ;) The sad part is my Nonnie (grandmother) taught me to crochet when I was a young girl, but I didn't appreciate it at the time. The other thing is I wish I had asked my mom to teach me how to make her nut rolls. She made them at Christmastime, and they were widely known to be the best around. I am sure she had the recipe somewhere, but I was lost in grief after she died. I didn't think to make a point to find it, and then we cleaned out the house before having an estate sale. My sister-in-law took a lot of her recipes, but that one wasn't in there. Maybe she didn't even have it written down and knew it by heart. I miss her so much, and I think using that recipe and giving out nut rolls as she did would bring me closer to her.

Melissa

And yepp, drums are high up on my list too. As soon as I can afford it, I want to do something about it. ❤️

Helene Ring Teppan

Cool! Looking forward to Contact! Really hoping for The talented Mr Ripley or The English Patient or some of the others I suggested ❤️

Helene Ring Teppan

To Kill a Mockingbird!

Susan B

i am soooooo excited for fleabag! ♥️

weekly question answer: there’s an ethereal piano piece called “I Love You” by RIOPY and my dream is to master it by 35

Zaria Middleton

Here for Contact! One of my dad's favorite movies ever (he was a fan of Carl Sagan), such a great pick!

Lola Lirola

Oh, also, if anyone hasn't seen The Great Pottery Throw Down show, do youselves a favor and find it: it's the coziest competition ever, with everyone helping each other develop their creativity, incredibly supportive judges who actually give advice and encouragement, and the healthiest masculinity around. Plus the creative challenges and unexpected results. All around a delight.

Lola Lirola

Pottery! I love how creative and tactile it is, how ancestral it is, how it connects all of us through time to the first person who took wet mud and made a serving plate with it, and how it can range from the practical teapots in artisan markets to the spiritual tiny pots of Edmund de Waal (one of my favorite artists ever). My drawbacks right now are time and finding a studio where I could learn (I'm not good at leaving the house), but one day!

Lola Lirola

Giggling like a fool now, thinking about it 😂

ArcAngel

That's really cool to hear! Drummers always have a bond, no matter the genre. Just everyone's internal clock ticking at the same time! I'd drown you in links so I wouldn't do that to you but if you find yourself down a rabbit hole, I might be able to help navigate lol. Enjoy, it's a lot of fun!

Travis Cannon

I'm so happy to hear that Amanda. I'm looking forward to other conversations

Franklin

haha we are alike. Oh my goodness violin is such an Angelic sound. Absolutely do it

Franklin

Oh it's coming

Franklin

That's so awesome. 20 years damn. You're probably so good at it right now. Thank you. I'm absolutely going to get one

Franklin

Oh my God I saw a little clip of this a couple of months ago. Instant chills. I saved this video to watch later. That's what I imagined in my head when I'm air drumming

Franklin

The most epic drumming thing I've seen is Chad Smith improving drums to a song he's never heard, and NAILS IT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMBRjo33cUE&pp=ygUaMzAgc2Vjb25kcyBtYXJzIGNoYWQgc21pdGg%3D

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

Lol I play drums! About 20 years now. It's addicting so watch out!! Get a practice pad or pad set to have fun and see how it grabs you! DW makes a very good practice pad set. Also doesn't take up much space!

Travis Cannon

Any IWTV extras or teasers? 😀

ArcAngel

so awesome!! i also love the idea of drums and do the same. i love rock/metal/punk music. an ex was a really good drummer so i learned a lot. i've always wanted to learn violin

sparkle

Sooooo pumped for the Fleabag journey! Savor it fr. It’s my favorite tv show of all time.
