Love it. I'm glad there are depictions like this that respects and understand what people are going through and how to properly approach it. 🧡

2025-01-24 02:11:56 +0000 UTCI've been going through your backlog after joining the patreon for TGP 😂 Even though I'm going out of order, I just can't help but add in that, as a lesbian, Ted's moment here defending Colin from the dismissal was so important to me. We have so many scenes in media of either the best or worst reactions to coming out... and this one was so beautiful in its difference. (It makes me cry every time, and I grew up in the 90/00s in Utah where I almost only had horrible reactions). I wish I could show it to everyone I know before having to come out. You're so right about how "I don't care that you're x" usually comes from the people who have the best intentions and want you to know that they accept you. They just also don't understand that choosing not to see a critical part of your identity truly dismantles their whole point.

2025-01-23 02:05:25 +0000 UTCWhat a great moment for Colin. Very proud of him. ❤️ I was also super annoyed with Isaac. Granted, Isaac is not the most emotionally intelligent guy on the team. And I think I had enough faith in the show that I didn’t believe he was just outright homophobic, but I hated the lack of communication from him. He didn’t seem to consider how hurt Colin might feel after his supposed best friend found out his biggest secret & stopped speaking to him. Not to mention it twisted the focus of this huge thing that should be all about Colin into focusing on Isaac & his insecurity. I get that that’s Isaac’s journey in this episode, and Roy’s talk with him is to get him to not bottle everything up b/c it can unintentionally ruin everything. It’s still really frustrating & disappointing. Even if the team was great with him, I wish Colin had had more support from the first person who knew. He’s definitely had to have more strength & grace than most. As always, Ted is there in the end. “We don’t ‘not care.’ We care very much.” You’re 💯 right about how the “I don’t care” response comes off as dismissive. I get the intent, but if someone tells you of their struggles, please care - please put in the effort of caring after someone has trusted you with some part of themself. I’ll leave off on mentioning that I was also very proud of Nate in this episode. He did the right thing with barely a thought. So nice to see him genuinely happy with Jade. Hell, I’m super proud of Roy after the press conference too. Proud of this whole gd team ❤️🥹

2024-09-08 14:36:01 +0000 UTCI've often felt that people who have a reticence to accept queer people usually need to realize that someone in their life that they love and care about is LGBTQ+. Not always, but it seems to be one way to really break through that barrier, and to help them see, we're all human, too. We all deserve love and respect and equity.

2024-09-08 14:33:40 +0000 UTCAnother aspect of Ted Lasso that I really love is its depiction of "masculinity" -- even characters that lean toward more toxic masculinity often show growth, like Jamie. I guess the only one that is truly toxic is Rebecca's ex (is it Rupert?). They show us so many different ways to be a man -- and to be a GOOD man. :)

2024-09-08 13:50:07 +0000 UTCTed Lasso is one of the most beautifully written, acted and well balanced comedy/drama. I love the small moments and the realistic presentation so that you don’t have to suspend your belief in order to truly become absorbed in each character, big and small. It is so totally well-rounded. Once the seasons are all done and the show has come to its conclusion I’m going to invite my entire family Children grandchildren to a long weekend this winter of binge watching the show. I can already smell the cooking in the kitchen the long coffee table filled with Ted Lasso treats from the Nigerian restaurant, Nate’s favorite restaurant foods like baklava, Alaskan winter ale from our local brewery, My version of Ted’s biscuits and any other other shows treats. I can already feel the warmth of the house, the food, the laughter, the tears, the lightbulb moments in the children’s Responses to different situations. I would love for this to be a chapter in our family story that will be remembered and spoken of as some of the best parts of our continued journey and unwritten history. Thank you Franklin for being you! Your an equal part of the experience. Your commentaries are the chefs kiss to an already wonderful ensemble that will make for a wonderful experience.
