2024-09-08 11:19:39 +0000 UTCWhat do you mean? You're talking about reactive violence. This is essentially calling a woman abusive because she finally fought back and hit her husband who beats her up every day. Yes they both did violent acts, but there's a clear power Dynamic there, lestat is the Catalyst and the instigator of the whole thing. So yes Louise is going to fight back sometimes. But that doesn't mean it is in equal measure or should be given the same energy. Louie is no saint by any means. You say some flaws are easier to see than others. Absolutely correct. but some flaws are Leaps and bounds more significantly worse and detrimental than others. If you're a doctor and they bring two patients in front of you. One with a broken leg and the other with a small cut that just requires a Band-Aid. Who do you focus on First and give most of your energy? They're both injuries but one is clearly more significant than the other and deserves your attention first. Yeah Louie pushed lestat out of the way. Compare that to lestat killing literally all of Louise support system. The two priests, Miss Lily, everything he inflicted on Louie, the man he claimed he loved. The manipulation, The Grooming, the centering of himself and his needs over Louise's crisis with race, finances, lost of his family, Etc, What are we talking about here? They're both toxic but it's not even close by comparison. And that is why I come at lestat more. You've probably watched till my season 2 episode 2. I give Louie his own shit when he's at fault as well. But in comparison is not even close to all the shit lestat be on.

2024-08-31 18:20:55 +0000 UTCYou point out several times in several videos how Lestat is manipulating Louis by not telling him about the sun. But completely OVERLOOK Louis physically shoving Lestat (flying into a wall might I add) previous to him running outside. Even if Lestat had the chance to tell him. He had just had hands put on him by the man he loves. I understand that Louis is the narrator here and there is an inherent bias there. But I invite you to look closer at their relationship and see the abuse went both ways. Perhaps it will become more evident as you watch more. Louis is quite toxic in his own right. I made this comment on this video so you can go back and watch the scene again. All of the characters in this show are quite flawed. Some flaws are easier to see then others. Which is why perspective is SOOOO important.

2024-08-14 08:13:55 +0000 UTCThat was too funny to me. It's just that touch of humor that wraps this show together in a perfect bow yeah I have a feeling we're going to see even more abuse

2024-08-14 05:29:30 +0000 UTCMuch love. I really appreciate the support and you coming over to join me witness the story. Thanks for the hesitation to comment lol you'd be surprised at how easily people get excited and spoil stuff for me😭😭 fingers crossed that won't happen with Interview with the Vampire because I love it too much. That would literally break my heart And yes yes, this is such a good story and I'm just letting everything come to me and take it with all seriousness. We can learn a lot about ourselves by seeing these monsters tackle their Humanity or lack thereof And that is the reason I often rewatch my favorite movies and TV shows. You catch so much with the gift of hindsight. Hell yeah. Appreciate you💜💜

2024-08-14 05:14:18 +0000 UTCI joined your P today after seeing your first episode on YouTube. I’m so excited to make this journey with you. I’m hesitant to make comments because both seasons have aired and so many of your questions and observations are addressed. I will just say I truly enjoy your introspection and willingness to ‘let the tale seduce you’. In my rewatch with you, I have observed so many things I missed the first time around so this is truly a treat. I hope no one spoils this amazing story for you and will be with you all the way. Many blessings to you, my friend!

2024-08-13 22:31:00 +0000 UTCThe "I dont like to go to bed angry" from separate coffins was so funny lol. Lestat needs to open his eyes more though - he is still missing a lot. It seems he really doesn't care except for his own wants, however. :/ It's so hard to see Louis being coerced and abused further.

2024-08-11 02:10:49 +0000 UTCWell, here's to send in more torture and blessings your way😁 because I doubt this is the last time it will happen haha Everything you said about Louie and seeing how Lestat dismisses his struggles is so real and heartbreaking I absolutely love your perspective on how we're conditioned to put these characters into hero versus villain boxes, and how they're all starting out as monsters. Let me not get ahead of myself but I had a lot to say about that dynamic when they got their daughter Claudia. But again I'm getting ahead of myself. I can just hold it in. Absolutely love this show

2024-08-08 02:40:00 +0000 UTCThey do. Unfortunately, season 3 is coming out in 2026 I believe

2024-08-08 02:33:36 +0000 UTCHouse of dragons doesn’t have any more seasons? Did they run out of a budget?

2024-08-04 04:32:55 +0000 UTCYou releasing this so early in the day was torture and a blessing all in one. I couldn't watch it when it dropped (torture) but felt like I had a gift waiting for me at home once I was free (blessing)! :) It’s as exciting to watch Louis start to come into his power as it is heartbreaking to watch him struggle with maintaining his ties to his family and old life. He’s still just a baby at this point from a vampire pov! And for all Lestat loves him he can be dismissive of Louis’s struggles (with morality, being a black man in America, the ever growing distance from his family, nearly eating his nephew in particular T.T, etc.) and manipulative in his pursuit of actualizing the “home we’ve barely had a glimpse of” (to quote him from ep 1 heh) for the two of them as fast as they can. I also feel like it’s instinct to want to immediately categorize these characters into good/evil, hero/villain, etc. and what makes this show so interesting for me is that the characters we’re following, who we grow to love and want the best for are the “monsters” and so from the get go we’re forced to reckon with the lens that we view them through. Even though they're vampires many of the heavier things they struggle with are very human, e.g. relationships, communication, love, however toxic it might be.

2024-08-04 04:09:24 +0000 UTCExactly. He's one of those characters that you just hate to love. And yes that's a very good point he wants to lead to be dependent on him. And it works because we always come back to him. During the scene where Louie got burned by the sunlight, I was thinking the same exact thing. He could have easily told him not to go outside for obvious reasons, but he knew Louis would come back to him desperate. The dismissive part too. so so true. 100% agree. Louis must feel so conflicted tho. On the one hand, I believe he loves his family, on the other, being around them is breaking their hearts. I can't help but just see him as a victim. With Daddy lastat in control.
Franklin
2024-08-04 00:13:12 +0000 UTCI haven't stopped thinking about these first two episodes. If this is your least favorite, that means it's only fire episodes from here on out. I'm pumped. I hear you. I feel like Lastat even when he's telling Louis the truth, his nature still makes it a bit controlling, which makes sense because he wants Louie. I totally feel what you mean though. Their lives can be so lonely.
Franklin
2024-08-04 00:07:51 +0000 UTCI wanted to know if I should watch the movie but several people have told me this show is far superior to that. I'm glad we're starting another good show together. It will be a good replacement for House of the Dragon (the last episode comes out tomorrow). Thank you,.. you always make me feel supported
Franklin
2024-08-04 00:03:30 +0000 UTCIt's one of those shows you just feel should be way more popular. I know right? I'm kind of bummed that it is so short. However, there's a season 2 so I'm happy I'm glad you're looking forward to New Orleans. I've always heard that the culture there is great
Franklin
2024-08-04 00:01:02 +0000 UTCAll these character are so complicated. I can’t help but love Lestat because the actor that plays him does an incredible job and I do think the character truly loves Louis but he also keeps dismissing Louis’ feelings (the racist guy, the baby, the singer). He also has a way of keeping Louis in the dark. He doesn’t tell Louis about the sunlight till he burns up; then he doesn’t tell him about the mind reading thing for a while. It feels like he wants to keep Louis dependent on him. Yeah it’s giving narcissist. Louis also needs to come to terms with the fact that he’s now a vampire too. If you’re not going to tell your sister the truth then leave the family alone and stop dipping in and out of their lives and breaking your sister’s heart. I love Daniel opening up more. Can’t wait for you to see how these relationships evolve over the seasons!!

2024-08-03 14:28:29 +0000 UTCI’m loving watching along again through your eyes. Episode 2 is probably the slowest and least favorite episode for me. The story really picks up at episode 3. You have some keen observations about Louis and Lestat’s relationship dynamics. Lestat is an Apex predator, but Louis, who misses his humanity is his cryptonite. He was not lying about the awfulness of vampire loneliness and with so few vampires in the world, it’s hard to find a life companion. Vampires can roam for centuries alone, suicidal. Which is why he wants Louis to join him in accepting his vampire nature, to be happy and not question the killings, since all mortals will die eventually anyway. He is toxicly in love with Louis. Looking forward to the next one .

2024-08-03 11:17:12 +0000 UTCI watched the original movie interview of a vampire starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. It was filmed in the late 90s. It definitely was good for its time. But this version is much more interesting for many reasons. this is my first time watching along with you. I do so enjoy your narrative and reactions. It’s why I subscribed. You are the star of the show.
