Next TV show? (Please Read Caption) Thanks😊

What TV show would you guys love to see me watch next? I know there are tons of amazing shows out there, these are just a few that I'm really interested in watching as well as shows that I've done some research on and have some potential to keep growing both my YouTube channel and Patreon. Just to be honest and vulnerable with y'all - my YouTube channel has been struggling for the past 3 months. Views are at an all-time low and I'm just trying to find a show I can enjoy as well as help me grow on that platform. I wish I could watch just anything I want, but realistically, I have to be strategic and hope for the best.

I'm just committing to the first season of whatever wins (for now) and will reevaluate how I feel about the show after the first season. I think that's only fair because I don't want to be stuck watching a long show that I might lose interest in for various reasons (hopefully not). Just trying to be honest and let you all know my thoughts going in.

I am almost done with Band of Brothers and the show that wins this poll will replace it. And when I'm done with Ted Lasso season 3, The runner-up of this poll might replace that. House of the Dragons season 2 will wrap up in 2 weeks and another show might replace that. So in the near future, I might be watching the top two shows that win this poll. I hope that all makes sense. Thank you for voting and I always always appreciate all your love and support💜

Oh this is an old pole. I posted this since July 24th. I hope I'm able to watch Mr Robot in the future though

Franklin

I'm confused...aren't we already watching the Wire and Interview with Vampire? I voted Mr. Robot before I saw that, but I think the shows I mentioned are winning anyhow and I'm fine with that. I seem to enjoy most content here anyway!

mark

I get that is not for everyone. I love horror and drama so it was a perfect fit. The Haunting of Hill House is a deep dive on family trauma and dynamics. Midnight Mass is a very well rounded discussion on religion, faith and fanaticism. I will say that I think these shows are a lot richer on discussion topics than Silence of the Lambs and A Quiet Place. They're not too scary. Both only have one season of 10 or less episodes. In the future, when you're up for it, you should try watching one episode to see if it intrigues you.

Ana Cristina Freitas

Hehe I don’t know if I can stomach that. But I looked it up YouTube and they both have a bunch of reactions. Maybe sometime in the future? I did come around to watching movies like silence of the lambs and a quiet place. So fingers crossed.

Franklin

Hey Frank, totally understand you needing to watch things you know will help fund your page (Partly why I suggested After Life, as with 160m views, it is the most watched British Comedy on Netflix) .... Another to maybe consider is one of Gervais earlier works 'Extras' .... this one has a 93% viewer rating on Rotten Tom's and is one of my favourite shows of all time. Anyway, please know that we'll always support you, whatever you are watching because we believe you are a kind soul, who is great at what he does, and you deserve to be successful. Keep doing what you do buddy 👏🏻

Jules & Kev Morrissey

Oh, I completely understand that. I'm the same, always need a pallet cleanser so to speak. :)

Christina H

It's all good ❤️ Thankful for the insight! I still feel that there must be more viewers like me who will stick by though and be thankful for the diversity in selection and maybe tell other fans. But yeah, algorithms are hard stuff.

Helene Ring Teppan

A Conundrum indeed. What you said about The Walking Dead. Those are the episodes I actually love in TV shows. The character development, Relationship building focused episodes. Action is just icing on top. I’ve been excited about Shogun since it came out

Franklin

Wow, I just looked it up. Produced by Spielberg and Tom Hanks as well. Impressive. I don’t think I would love to watch another war series so soon tho. Watching shows and movies about historical war times can be a bit of a downer for me sometimes

Franklin

I feel you!

Franklin

I hear you. I’m sorry you feel that way. But I hope you can understand my reasons based on everything I said above. I don’t doubt how great afterlife is, I’m just in a tough spot at the moment

Franklin

@blankzy The wire is definitely a GOAT show. Heard so much about it. That as well as better call Saul. I’ll check them out all in good time. And don’t worry my friend, you support a lot of other ways. A lot of times that’s worth more than financial support🫡🙏🏾

Franklin

@helene sorry I didn’t mean to come off so strong. I was just trying to explain. Thank you. I appreciate your thoughts and your support.

Franklin

🌮

Raymond Walker

Yeah, it's difficult to balance these things. I know horror isn't really your cup of tea, but I think you would really enjoy The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass. They are very complex and deep dramas that are made to fit the horror/suspense genre. They are really beautiful family stories that usually get a lot of engagement on YouTube.

Ana Cristina Freitas

I can imagine you being torn between wanting to watch highly original series like White Lotus (which you will love, and is ignored by reaction channels) and a sure-win like The Walking Dead. (I really enjoyed the early seasons of WD, but for the character-driven episodes that some viewers criticized for not having enough action.) That’s the creative person’s conundrum, isn’t it? There will always be a smaller audience for something highly original. I think Shogun would be great for your channel because it’s a cerebral show that is also popular.

Susan B

Well, I certainly know who I would watch first if someone asked me. Bridgerton is captivating in the same way as a trashy magazine about celebrities is, Downton is like reading a good novel. Also the degree of historical accuracy are as far apart as they can be in many ways. Why not do it right? It annoys me quite a lot with Bridgerton, but yet, I can not look away. I also like the second season of Bridgerton 😊

Helene Ring Teppan

Oh … if you liked Band of Brothers, which I do also, then Apple has a good show called Masters of the Air. American bombers during WWII. This show was so damn good! I loved BoB, but I think this was even better. I got goosebumps many times.

Christina H

OK

BRENDA

I don’t think you can really compare Downton Abby with Bridgerton. Both are excellent, but one is a period romance, basically a “bodice ripper” romance novel and the other is a more realistic historical drama. Both wonderful in their own way. For Bridgerton, seasons 1 & 3 are ace.

Christina H

Better Call Saul is definitely GOAT territory. I hope he does watch at some point.

Christina H

Great way to describe it. It is so damn good.

Blankzy

The Wire's my favorite show of all time. It's like an extremely entertaining dissertation on U.S society.

Shane

Gutted that 'After Life' isn't on this list ...... It would be the perfect replacement for Ted Lasso. It uplifts you, and rips your heart out at the same time. Incredible writing, and acting ..... a total 10/10 show. PLEASE consider it to watch alongside one of the above which are all quite heavy going.

Jules & Kev Morrissey

Thank you. I look forward to watching those as well

Franklin

I already said in the caption that these are shows that I am really interested in watching. All the shows and movies I have ever put on a poll are things that I have done spoiler-free research on and shows and movies that I've wanted to watch for a while. Rotten Tomato, IMDb, Metacritic, Word of Mouth, etc. Because I never want to start watching something that I do not like. That'll be a waste of my limited time and resources. When It comes to the numbers, I get what you mean, but that matters a lot because that is how I pay my editors, pay for streaming services, and run my channel. I'm also trying to make a living out of this. I'm not going to fake being interested in something I'm not or pretend I like something when I don't. I love everything I watch and I'm passionate about it, you can tell that from how I react, - but this is also a business. Like I said I want to make this a living. With every business, there has to be some strategy not just 100% passion. I agree with you on the main reasons for exploring these movies and shows and not just for the numbers. But at the same time, I have had to stop producing shows that I absolutely love because it wasn't performing well on YouTube and I was losing money (for editors to edit the videos). Shows like Band of Brothers, House of the Dragon, The Boys, Stranger Things, Invincible Etc So those numbers are absolutely important. That is why I try to find that fine balance between shows I actually love and want to see and their ability to bring in those numbers. Those numbers also help in promoting the videos which means I find more people who love my content and more people willing to support me here on Patreon. So me also looking for numbers is not a vanity thing, it's extremely necessary for me to continue fueling my passion that you all enjoy as well as I do. I do appreciate your thoughts and opinions on the matter but that is just a harsh reality that I've been dealing with for the past 2 years. If I were one of those big channels that have already made it and can watch whatever comes into their mind, absolutely I would do that and not even worry about the numbers. But I'm not just there yet.

Franklin

I voted for The Wire just because it sounds like the one GOAT show you havent seen (I hear Better Call Saul Is GOAT territory, but I still haven't seen it). But I'm totally down for Fallout or even IWAV, I've heard very good things. I hope the views pick up, you always have my views and support, wish I wasn't broke or you'd have my money too. Also, for people replying, he's watching The Bear and he's seen Breaking Bad.

Blankzy

Yes, I really feel like u have a creative mind and is absolutely thinking outside the box, sorry for that coming out a bit wrong, just from English not being my first language. YouTube is difficult. I guess the best you can do is try to do a mix of not drowning in the many videos about the same thing, but also doing something that is different. I understand that it's hard and look forward to do my best to support you. I really like to watch your reactions!

Helene Ring Teppan

Thanks for recommending that. I'll look it up

Franklin

Oh no, don't worry about that. I don't expect you to watch any show or movies that you're not interested in just because it's my channel. I'm glad you're enjoying Band of Brothers and A Beautiful Mind. Some of the shows you mentioned are on my overall show list that I plan to watch. The ones I mentioned above are just the ones I'm most interested in at the moment. So sometime down the line for sure. And I totally agree with thinking outside the box and choosing quality over what's cool right now, but unfortunately, that's not how YouTube works (at least not for the creators behind the scenes). YouTube doesn't always reward small channels for doing something different, I've been trying that for the last 2 years. You would expect that reacting to a show that no one else is reacting to Will bring you all those views, but no, YouTube considers it different and doesn't promote it. YouTube is a business. They make their money by selling ads. And they're more likely to sell more ads on videos/video topics that are more popular. So those are their priorities and that's what they promote. Not smaller channels trying to be different. It's unfortunate and shitty but that's the reality from my experience. That's why you see a lot of really good movies that have zero reactions on YouTube. Is because reactors have tried to do those movies and got some of the lowest views and engagement. So I do think outside the box every day, but unfortunately doesn't work with a system like YouTube.

Franklin

I've heard that is really good but unfortunately, I'm not a fan of those adult/comedy animation type shows like Big Mouth, Family Guy, South Park, Bob's Burger, Etc I've tried

Franklin

The unfortunate thing about that is the algorithm is such a mind fuck.. Especially for smaller channels. Because even when you go for big popular TV shows it doesn't always pan out. I had to stop posting My Band of Brothers and House of the Dragons on YouTube because none of the videos could even get over a thousand views. Two massive shows with big fan bases. I had to quit on YouTube because I was literally losing money paying editors to edit them. It wasn't worth it. Even when I focus on shows I really love or movies I really love that are popular, that freaking algorithm doesn't give a damn. It is quite frustrating actually. As much as I want to watch TWD, I'm hella skeptical because of how YouTube treated my Band of Brothers and House of the Dragon. it'll be easier if YouTube was just a passion thing for me but I'm also trying to make a living off this platform. And I absolutely love the idea of watching Bridgeton, something new something different something romance-based. I would f****** love that. Same would fallout, I'm dying to see it

Franklin

lol you're funny. Y'all really want to see me lose my mind on camera

Franklin

It's one of my favorite shows and I'm currently watching the recent season with my wife

Franklin

You're welcome. I only heard about it recently and how good it was. I appreciate it

Franklin

I've seen Breaking Bad. That's why I put Better Call Saul there. I'm really excited for Fallout, I've never played the games but everyone has been telling me how awesome of an adaptation it is. Hopefully I can watch it soon.

Franklin

I appreciate that man. It's not all sweet out here but we keep grinding. I've loved exploring TV shows lately as well as movies so that will continue. I absolutely love the bear and I've seen Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad

Franklin

I think Interview with a Vampire and Bridgerton would do well and be entertaining! Totally understand you're balancing shows you want to watch with what will also help the channel grow.

sparkle

Here's my 2 cents worth......I think you should do a series that YOU WANT TO WATCH... (if there are a couple of them..put only those in the poll...? ) I feel strongly that you need to watch movies/series that you are interested in..or curious about seeing. Viewer pick up on if you aren't enjoying the show... And what is the core purpose of doing this...I hope it is to learn and enjoy shows, not just numbers..I understand the numbers, but PLEASE know that YOUR TIME WATCHING THESE SHOWS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING>>AND ENJOYING DOING IT. That is what I would hope for you in all of this...Value your time putting in the effort that you do, always. (OK, that was about 6 cents worth instead of 2:)

BRENDA

Pleeeeeeaaaseee IWTV!! You will not regret!

uvytracks

I would recommend Mary and George. It is 7 episodes. Several good choices on your list. I think Shogun looks great. Interesting to see what people vote for.

Mary E Crum

I am sorry to hear it. I really like your channel, to be honest I have also not watched the last month or so after watching anything in the beginning, a lot of that is not my jam, (was so glad to see a beautiful mind) nothing to do with you, but I really look forward to Band of brothers. I suggest doing something that a lot of people like, but not all do... What about Gillmour girls, Mindhunter, Sherlock, Twin Peaks, Battlestar Gallactica, Orange is the new Black, Madmen or even Simpsona? All had a huge following and haven't seen anyone else react to it recently.. I also suggest Downton Abbey over Bridgerton. So so much better and also have a huge following. Have you seen the Agatha Christies Poirot series? I have seen no one react to that, but it is very very popular! Think outside the box and choose quality and not just want everyone else does because it's cool right now 👌

Helene Ring Teppan

Yesss! Between the two IWTV is a bit more recent so I vote we start with that. ;)

alee

Ahh, I would love for him to do IWaV

Michelle Lugar

Also have you seen Bojack Horseman? It is a great show. one of my all time favorites.

Rayyan Rahman

Usually the current hot show is what will get peak views, but you may not always be interested in them. I imagine it can also be difficult to keep up. I vote Fallout b/c it’s recent & short. Bridgerton miight be a good choice also? It’s super popular, and I personally am always intrigued when someone who isn’t necessarily the target audience (primarily women, in this case) watches something. TWD will always have a large fanbase, so that may be a good choice too.

Michelle Lugar

I personally would like to see you reacting to some horror shows but that's just me. I know how you feel about that lol

Rayyan Rahman

The Bear is huge right now. Also it is an amazing show with 30 minute episodes. Could be a big hit for your channel.

Rayyan Rahman

Thank you so much for putting Interview with the Vampire on the poll, wishing you and your channel all the best!

alee

I would have loved to vote for better call Saul, but breaking bad should be watched beforehand. So I voted for fallout since it's a solid show and only one season for now. Plus its also quite popular right now and could possibly help the YouTube channel.

Skyler Ralf

Sorry to hear Frank. The going for tv series/shows is a good idea and you might need to go for what's popular n could get lot of views. Besides the choices you posted I might suggest The Bear, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, to name a few.

Dan C

Interview with the Vampire is the only correct answer, lol. But White Lotus is a close second.
