Dune: Part Two | Full Uncut Reaction | (side A)

Sorry I had to split it into two parts. My computer refuses to download the full 3 hour + plus video.

It's so interesting to me that so many people have a hard time seeing Herbert's (the writer of the original books) intent with the character of Paul.

That makes a lot of sense why the fremens don't use Shields Holy s*** that is going to be one smart baby right out the womb. Probably even capable of speech??? Don't answer that. But that's just crazy to think about Watching the movie, watching breakdowns of the movie, and comments like this are so so important for me to fully grasp and appreciate the lore so I really appreciate that.

The Harkonnens were using guns in the desert because they were hunting Fremen, and the Fremen do not use shields in the desert because the vibrations from those shields make the worms go into a "killing frenzy". So, in this case, using guns are a viable option because trying to fight Fremen in close combat is a death sentence (they are THAT good) and because the Harkonnens know for a fact that the Fremens won't have shields. The whole aspect of the film where Jessica is speaking to her daughter in the womb is because the unborn child has now become something "more". When Jessica drank the water of life, she gained the consciousness of GENERATIONS of Reverend Mothers; all their collective knowledge and wisdom. The reason why the ladies panicked when they realized Jessica was pregnant is because the unborn baby has now also gained the collective consciousness and wisdom of the Reverend Mothers. Thus, this little embryo now has a mind of immense power before even being born. In the Bene Gesserit tradition, the bile was fed to a Sister after she had received many years of training in prana/bindu body control. This was because it was only the Bene Gesserit abilities of altering metabolism and slowing heart rates that could possibly neutralise the lethality of the chemical. The Sister regresses into a coma-like trance, and converts the toxic elements on a molecular level. If the Sister failed to metabolise the chemical, the poisonous bile would kill her. Were the Sister successful, however, the process would amplify her awareness to the point where it would unlock her genetic memory, and along with it many secrets of the Sisterhood. The reason why Paul changes after drinking it is because he gains access to the Genetic Memory as well. The "calculus of power" now has full control over his decision making. The Paul we had come to love and respect is still there, but he is called to a "higher" purpose now. The best way to see that is with Chami and the Imperial Princess. He offers his hand in marriage to the princess, as that gives him the best chance of gaining and maintaining his hold on power, but what he tells Chami before his offer of marriage to the princess lets us know he still loves her.
